Princess Merida is a heroine on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She is the daughter of Queen Elinor and King Fergus and the older sister of Hubert, Hamish and Harris. She took over her father's place as the ruler of Dunbroch. She was, unfortunately swept in the Dark Ones' curse, where she ended up in Storybrooke and forgot all the events that had happened in the last 6 weeks.Her casting call name was "Evanna". She is portrayed by guest star Amy Manson.
Merida is based on the character of the same name from the Disney/Pixar film Brave.

Powers and Abilities[]
- Leadership: Despite The clan leaders dissatisfied with Merida, she becomes a stubborn but noble leader. Her words of wisdom with Fergus shortly before the battle led him to forsake The helm that would make his soldiers follow him into battle. Though initially planning to use the Spell of Mor'du to kill the leaders for defying her, Merida chooses to be more merciful due to Belle's influence. After Merida fights Zelena and Arbor, Lord Macintosh, Dingwall and MacGuffin. They see that she is fit to rule because she would do anything to save the kingdom. After Merida is crowned, she announces her intent to destroy the helm rather than return it because no magic should force people to fight for a cause they don't believe in. To this, the old witch congratulates her as she gained the confidence to lead DunBroch without resorting to magic. The Witch sees through thatv de the kingdom will prosper
- Swordsmanship: Merida was taught how to sword fight, in part due to her training under Mulan's tutelage. Because she is a capable swordswoman, the clan leaders accept her as the true Queen when she saves her brothers with her bow.
- Archery: Merida is capable of performing an archery move called a "Robin Hood", which is when a first arrow is split by a second one. She did this by shooting at the arrows was they were headed towards her brothers when the lords wanted to execute them.

- To divert attention from Merida, her casting call presented her as Rumplestiltskin's mother.
- According to Manson, Merida's story takes place ten years after Brave.
- Like her mother and Brothers, she got turned into a bear.
- Merida is later told by Belle that the witch LIED to her about the "spell to change fate"; it was always a transformation potion. She later displays a good deal exasperation with the witch, whom manipulated her into learning how to be a good leader; per the deal with Fergus to "ensure the future of the the kingdom".
- Merida never actually forgave Emma for everything she did to her, despite how they were seen together on a mission in 5B. She personally enjoyed her little revenge against her torturer when she was ordered to guard her and was willing to shoot her by the leg as punishment.
