Merpeople are a species that have the upper-body of a human and the lower-body of a fish. These beings inhabit the death's of the Ocean Females are referred to as mermaids, while males are referred to as mermen. All though many are depicted as dangerous (sometimes even lethal using their voices to lore ships to there doom) benevolent Merfolk exist and use their abilities to often times aid their allies and hinder their enemies.

Merpeople are also present in cultures and religions across the world.
