Wow! None of you guys are turtles!
~ Merton upon

receiving glasses from Krypto.

You never forget your first time.
~ Merton to Krypto after the latter tells her and her friends that he survived getting hit by a car.

Merton McSnurtle also known as Terrific Whatzit is one of the tritagonists (alongside PB and Chip) of the 2022 Warner Bros. computer-animated superhero film, DC League of Super-Pets.

She is a former shelter pet who became a speedster superhero after receiving powers from a dropped piece of a orange kryptonite crystal and was later adopted by The Flash.

She was voiced by Natasha Lyonne who also voiced Loretta Geargrinder in Robots and Smoky Quartz in Steven Universe.

Appearance[]

Merton is a Red-eared slider with a cracked green shell. As Terrific Whatzit, she has a gray shell along with a mask and goggles dedicated to her new owner.

Personality[]

Merton is a sassy turtle who sometimes curses. She is a flirty turtle who enjoys crushing on inanimate things (construction helmets and a Garfield car plushy are examples). She's silly but very loving!

Biography[]

Living in a pet shelter, Merton along with a few other pets think that they will never get adopted even knowing that the shelter owners will capture Ace regardless of his escapes. Despite Ace’s failed attempts to escape, Merton soon dreams of being being at a farm after she was told by the latter instead of being adopted. The night after, one of the shelter pets Lulu managed to pull in a piece of orange Kryptonite which powers her and leaves off, abandoning Merton and the other shelter pets. Upon being released by Ace who now is invulnerable thanks to the crystal, Merton soon realizes that she now has the ability to use superhuman speed much like The Flash, despite her poor vision.

Powers and Abilities[]

Merton has superhuman speed as given by the orange Kryptonite. It can be assumed Merton's body was also strengthened to handle the strain of using superspeed although her vision remained bad, requiring her to wear vision aids, like glasses.

Trivia[]

  • Despite her swears being censored out, Merton is the only character in the movie to use vulgar language.
  • The original version of Terrific Whatzit is an anthropomorphic male turtle with super strenght and flight as powers besides super speed.
