Metal Mario also known as Metallic Mario is Mario's other rival besides Donkey Kong, and Wario. He first appeared in Super Mario 64 as a power up. He also appears in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee as a boss. He appears in Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 as the last unlockable character. He also appears in Mario Kart 7 as an unlockable character and served as the replacement for Waluigi. He then continued to appear in Mario Tennis Open as the final QR downloadable character. He appeared in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as one of the unlockable characters, he is better known to be indestructive, but he can still get hit by long fall, the metal box is a magic weapon that can switch the player into an metallic version of itself which makes the player stronger. He appeared in Mario Strikers Charged as Fiery Metal Mario which Mario kicks the ball in the goal to win the match. Metal Mario also appears in Dr. Mario 64 when Dr. Mario accidentally eats some of the Megavitamins and becomes an metallic version of himself called Metal Dr. Mario, this is the first metallic version of Dr. Mario who appears for the first time. Metal Mario also appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and in Super Smash Bros. 4 as one of the playable characters which Mario uses the Metal Box to transform himself into Metal Mario. Metal Mario doesn't appear in the remake of Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS, he was replaced by Metal Wario who shares the same abilities like Metal Mario before him. He appeared in Super Mario Odyssey as an unlockable costume for Mario and also appears in Puzzles and Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition. He is voiced by Charles Martinet.
