Metroplex is a major character in the Transformers Prime Wars trilogy, making his debut in Titans Return.
He was voiced by Nolan North.
History[]
Long ago, Metroplex traveled across different planets and helped make new Cybertronian life while resting in city mode until needed, eventually making his way to Cybertron and becoming Metroplex City, often communicating with Windblade up until the Combiner Wars begun. During the conflict, he sometimes communicated with Windblade, telling her to "not let this happen" referring to the destruction brought about by Decepticons. After Starscream obtained the Enigma Force and defeated Windblade, she contacted Metroplex and begged for his help, and despite being understandably angry at her, he still emerged after she apologized. As Windblade activated her city speaker link with him, Metroplex held off the Super-Combiner and crushed Starscream in his hand, giving Optimus and Megatron the chance to take down the Super-Combiner.
Afterwards he assisted in the reconstruction of Cybertron. Though he had been planning to leave Cybertron, after Trypticon was revived, Metroplex decided that he would take on him by himself in spite of his injuries, upholding his promise to Optimus: keep Cybertron safe. As the two fought, despite being outmatched and losing the upper hand, Metroplex kept fighting until the arrival of Emissay. Being granted the power to use his optics for fire power, he kept blasting Trypticon until the Titan ripped his arm off, overwhelming and defeating him. Understanding that his time was up, he had Emissary ejected before Trypticon finally crushed him to death.
Personality[]
Metroplex’s poor, slow, and infrequent efforts to support his brave comrades and forward the Autobot cause are never enough. Sure, he's the Autobots' ultimate weapon, their greatest and final defense. Yes, he's a gigantic, towering warrior, capable of channeling awesome energies. Strong beyond belief, versatile, clever, brave and self-sacrificing, Metroplex is willing to give everything he has to the Autobot cause and defend it to his last astroseconds of life. Despite all this he’s wracked to the core of his being with the belief that he could and should be doing more. It’s a self-deprecating attitude that stuns many of his fellow Autobots, most of whom take immeasurable comfort in his very existence and the knowledge that regardless of what evil comes, Metroplex is out there to back them up.
