Mi Zhu (Chinese: 麋竺) is a minor character in the 14th-century Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by the late Luo Guanzhong, and its multiple adaptations. He is Mi Fang's older brother and Liu Bei's brother-in-law.
History[]
Mi Zhu is an officer of Xu Province. His ancestors have been operating for generations. He has a child servant and nearly 10,000 diners. His family is very wealthy, but Tao Qian hired him to work. After Tao Qian died of illness, Mi Zhu was enshrined on Tao Qian, greeted Liu Bei into Xu Province and assisted him. Soon after, the powerful warlord Lu Bu took a battle with Liu Bei and Yuan Shu, sneaked on Xiapi and captured Liu Bei's wife, but Liu Bei flee to Guangling. His younger sister Lady Mi is resolve to marry Liu Bei, Mi Zhu sent all his family and slaves to Liu Bei.
Later on, Cao Cao wanted to express his enthusiasm for the county and his younger brother, Mi Fang, but the two brothers did not accept it and decided to followed Liu Bei. Liu Bei and his army lost to Cao Cao, Liu Bei first sent Mi Zhu to meet Liu Biao. Liu Bei entered the state of Yi Province and was worshipped as General An Han, his position was for Zhuge Liang, the prime-minister of Shu. However, after this, Liu Bei can helped his family to give birth for the time, there is no objection to the highest treatment of blasphemy.
When Mi Fang betrayed Shu and joined Wu, Guan Yu was killed by the enemy forces. Mi Zhu learned that his brother had been rebellious was ashamed and difficult to plead guilty to Liu Bei. Liu Bei in turn comforted him, he believed that his brother should not be connected and treat him as he was. Although he was not embarrassed to obtain the understanding of Liu Bei, Mi Zhu was still sorrowful and hate his younger brother so much. The long-term depression made the health situation turn sharply, Liu Bei claimed that the emperor had died more than a year later.
