Mia Luna Tearmoon is the main protagonist of Tearmoon Empire. She is the First Princess of the Tearmoon Empire who begins the story about to be executed via guillotine following a revolution in her kingdom before suddenly waking up as her 12-year old self after being beheaded and seeking to amend her selfish and egotistical ways to save her from her future execution.
She was voiced Sumire Uesaka in Japanese.
Background[]
Mia is the only princess of Tearmoon Empire who was imprisoned after an uprising in her kingdom and set to be beheaded. On the day of her execution, she suddenly wakes up in an alternate timeline upon being given another chance to fix her life a few years before the day of her execution, with her diary to serve as her guide.
Appearance[]
Mia is a young girl with short argent hair and blue eyes. The skirt of her dress is split with blue pieces of fabric adorned by blue bows on both sides, a golden second layer, and a frilly final layer of her skirt with gold trim. Her dress also has turquoise sleeves with frills on both ends and similar blue bows. The top of her dress also has gold trim and a blue bow, and she wears a blue and white corset above her skirt. She wears blue shoes, a white choker with a blue bow, and white gloves with tiny bows on the back of her hands. She also wears a golden tiara with a turquoise gem in the center.
Personality[]
Mia is introduced as a selfish princess who always puts herself first and believes that those who dislike her simply don't understand her. Despite her egotism, she is still capable of showing gratitude towards others, namely for Anne's loyalty, Ludwig's pleas for her life, Wagul giving her his mother's hairpin to thank her for saving him, and the reception she received from the Lulu tribe. Unlike many nobles, Mia respects her maid, Anne. She is considerably more respectful towards the cook she had previously fired in an alternate timeline and values his efforts to please her. She would always consider the feelings of others and try to make up for any mistakes she ends up making, such as apologizing to Anne when she accidentally exhausted the latter by having her carry too many mushrooms at once.
During the course of the series, Mia showcases her emotional intelligence on multiple instances, as she proves her specialty for "reading the room", which helps her stay out of trouble in the new timeline. She is also very good at reading the emotions and thoughts of others, such as when she picked up on how Ruby was in love with Vanos or when her friend Chloe was feeling down. Mia is also very skilled at analyzing every detail of a specific situation in order to figure out what she should do.
Mia also cares greatly for fulfilling promises she makes, such as her willingness to help save Marco Forkroad’s business from being sabotaged not only because he is the father of her friend Chloe, but because of a contract that he has faithfully fulfilled with her. Despite being offered a more advantageous deal, Mia still made the decision to stay true to her previous arrangement, making it clear that in spite of her immense wealth and life of luxury, she still doesn't believe that money can solve all problems.
