Mia Thermopolis

Mia Thermopolis is the principal protagonist of "The Princess Diaries" and its sequel "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement". She is of royalty on her divorced father's side. She is a 15-year-old (16 in the sequel) tenth grader from a private school. She lives with her cat and her divorced mother. Two months after her parents divorced, her father died. This is leaving Mia to take her grandmother's place as queen. She is portrayed by Anne Hathaway. In fact, this is Hathaway's debuting role.
