Michael is the tritagonist in the 1982 movie E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. He is Elliot and Gertie's big brother, he sometimes teases his younger siblings on most occasions. After meeting E.T., Michael became more compassionate and caring.
He is portrayed by Robert MacNaughton.
History
Meeting E.T.
One day, Michael comes home from school where he finds Elliot and calls him out on his lies to stay off school. Elliot says he needs to show him something and when he first sees E.T. he appears to be shocked but then later swears that he won't mention E.T. to anyone other than his younger siblings.
Saving E.T.
Elliot spends the night in the woods with E.T. and before he can come home his mother, Mary rings the police to inform them that her son is missing. Luckily he returns home, Elliot then tells Michael to find E.T. so Michael rides his bike to the same area to find E.T. lying on the ground, he covers him up and takes him home. Only for him and Elliot to be taken away.
Helping E.T. Get Home
Michael receives the news that E.T. is alive, in joy he and Elliot come up with a plan to get him home. Michael arranges a meet-up with Greg, Tyler and Steve. Where they will all get on bikes and ride out to the woods to get their friend home. They have a race off with the police and various other investigators, when their path is clear during their bike ride, officers pull up out of nowhere leading to E.T. magically lifting him and his friends to the sky. Once they finally land, the kids say goodbye to E.T., he thanks Michael especially for finding him and evidently saving his life. Soon after, Elliot and E.T. have a long goodbye before he goes back home.
