Michael Newman is the main protagonist and anti-hero of the 2006 comedy fantasy film Click. He is a frustrated man who is fed up with the amount of time he has to spend at his work who uses a universal remote that can control time.
He is portrayed by Adam Sandler, who also portrayed Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Bobby Boucher, Little Nicky, Skeeter Bronson, Longfellow Deeds, Sam Brenner, Q*bert from Pixels, Archie Moses, Dave Buznik, Chuck Levine, Donny Berger, Chuck Levine, Robbie Hart, Davey Stone, Whitey Duvall, Hubie Dubois, Sandy Wexler, Charlie Fineman, Dracula in the first 3 Hotel Transylvania movies, Zohan Dvir, Lenny Feder, and Tommy Dunson Stockburn.
Personality[]
Michael Newman is a neglectful father who is very stressed about the amount of time has to spend at his own work. After Morty hands him a universal remote that can control time. It helped reduce his stress and made him go through life easier.
Biography[]
Michael drives to his work and was requested a pool by Prince Habeeboo before he was running late for his son's swimming practice which made his son disappointed that he wasn't there to see him. Michael Newman and his family went home before Michael drives to Bath and Beyond for a universal remote. He finds the beyond room in the store and enters it. He walks in and finds an inventor named Morty. Morty takes Michael to the back of the store where he hands him a universal remote that can control time for free.
After arriving home he tests out the remote which can turn on his TV. His wife walks in and tells him out he can't go camping with his kids for the weekend before Michael pauses the TV not knowing that he also paused time. Later, his dog Sundance was barking at him before Michael grabs the remote to jokingly mute Sundance's barking before shortly finding out that the remote is not like an average remote. He returns back to Bath and Beyond before both Michael and Morty time travel through Michael's birth and childhood. Michael gets a big promotion and celebrated. Things began going downhill for Michael when his boss Ammer tells him that he will be CEO of the company one day, even though Michael thought he already was.
2007[]
Michael takes the chance to fast-forward one year later to his promotion. His life was set to auto-pilot before finding out he and his wife are in marriage counseling, his kids were grown out from watching Dragon Tales to watching CSI, and that his dog Sundance passed away and was replaced by a small dog named Peanut. Michael rides a bike to his office in a robe before Ammer tells him that head CEO Eric Lamonsoff is retiring and Ammer offers Michael to be head of the company which Michael accidentally accepts before his romote begins gliching again and fast-forwards to 2017.
2017[]
In 2017, Michael wakes up and is now a wealthy CEO of the company and finds out that he is overweight. Michael drives to his home and finds his son Ben who is also overweight and his daughter Samantha who is dating a boy named Derek. His wife Donna divorces him and is now dating Ben's swim coach, Bill. Michael pauses time and writes a lovely note for his wife. Michael unpauses time before his the placement dog pounces Michael knocking him unconscious.
2023[]
The remote fast-forwards 6 years later. Michael wakes up in a hospital before finding out he had cancer and had a heart attack.

- Michael Newman's second love interest is the "Jogger with Giant Boobies" who was played by Ukrainian model, dancer, choreographer and singer Ireesha.
- In the lake scene, Michael (Adam Sandler) reminisces about his childhood at Lake Winnipesaukee. Winnipesaukee is approximately fifty miles north of Manchester, New Hampshire; where Sandler grew up.
- Michael Newman's (Adam Sandler) home, where he sees himself in the future, is the same building used as Mel's (Jon Lovitz's) home in The Benchwarmers (2006).
- When Michael (Adam Sandler) visits Ben's (Jake Hoffman) office, the water that Ben gives Michael is VOSS sparkling artesian water from Norway. VOSS is the brand of water that the kids wanted to drink in Grown Ups (2010).

- According to director Frank Coraci, the scene in Michael Newman's (Adam Sandler) office in the future where he revisits the last time he saw his father alive before he died was real emotions from Adam. Adam's father Stan had just passed away so he was very emotionally raw about the scene.
- In the scene where Michael is at his father's grave, a headstone can be seen behind him with the names Nick and Diana Salinger - the parents from Party of Five (1994).
- After Michael left the futuristic hospital, it was originally going to reveal that Morty was the Angel of Death before the filmmakers decided to have Michael wanting to reunite with Ben first.
