Ethan, also known as Mighty Eagle, is the overarching protagonist of The Angry Birds Movie film series.
He is voiced by Peter Dinklage, who also voices Phil Betterman in The Croods: A New Age and played Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones and Eddie Plant in Pixels. Trumpkin in Narnia.
Appearance[]
Mighty Eagle appears as a giant white and dark brown anthropomorphic Northern Bald Eagle with muscular and fat build and is identical to his game counterpart but with minor changes. He has a large dark brown feathered arms which he uses for flight and does not have the three black feathers on top of his head. He also has an orange feet with black claws and has large black feathers on his back. His thick brows are now messier like his game counterpart, his large beak has maintained but the back of his beak was curled when he smiles arrogantly and his eyebags are now magenta like his Toons appearance.
Personality[]
Mighty is different than his game counterpart who is wise to all the birds, he appears as somewhat of a celebrity jock who had many trophies and other things due to his heroism to protect the birds in Bird Island. He is initially lazy as seen in the movie before he shows his bravery to save the eggs.
History[]
Past[]
Mighty Eagle's past mostly remains covered in mystery, but it is known that, when he was a teenager in the 1990s, he was the coolest guy in high school. One day, he met a female eagle named Zeta after accidentally bumping into her. Both him and Zeta fell in love and they enjoyed each other's company and activities until one day, Zeta proposed to him, but Mighty Eagle was too afraid and not ready for the next step. So in the wedding day, he abandoned Zeta, leaving her heartbroken.
At some point after abandoning Zeta, Mighty Eagle left Eagle Island and found Bird Island, where he was hailed as it's protector, with some of the birds being his fans, most notably a red outcast bird named Red. Mighty Eagle was declared missing at that point.
The Angry Birds Movie[]
When a colony of green pigs led by their king, Leonard, Red was suspicious of their motives, so he decided to go to Eagle Mountain to find Mighty Eagle to help him figure out about the pigs, Red also recruited Chuck and Bomb, two other birds to help Red. Upon arriving and after Chuck and Bomb swim on the "Lake of Wisdom" , they see Mighty Eagle come out of his cave on the mountain, Red was surprised of seeing him, but then, Mighty Eagle started peeing on the lake, disgusting Chuck and Bomb.

- Mighty Eagle coincidentally shares some similarities with Big Z from the previous Sony Pictures Animation film, Surf's Up: both were famous who everyone looked up to, but later turn out to be overweight and washed-up.
