Mike is a contestant in Season Four of Total Drama, and he has Dissociative Identity Disorder. This condition causes different individuals (alters) to take control of his body (fronting) without his awareness. He was eliminated in sixth place due to Scott, a fellow contestant, manipulating Mike by threatening to reveal his Dissociative Identity Disorder to Zoey, who was unaware of it at the time. Scott eventually knocked Mike out with a shovel, leading to a struggle for control with his alters.
While unconscious, Zoey informed Mike that she was breaking up with him because one of his alters, Vito, had been hitting on other girls. However, upon realizing Mike was knocked out, she confessed. When Mike regained consciousness, he confessed to Zoey, although she had already learned the truth from Cameron, another contestant who inadvertently revealed it while Mike was unconscious, with a faint "Sorry!" in the background. Scott emerged as the challenge winner and had the authority to choose who would leave the competition. He chose Mike.
To exit the competition, contestants were catapulted into the water. As Mike sat in the catapult, he gave Zoey a pendant of himself and was about to kiss her when he was launched into the ocean.
Mike returned as a contestant in Total Drama All-Stars, the first half of Season Five. He became one of the two main protagonists alongside Zoey during this portion of the season. The reason for his return was the emergence of another alter, Mal, while he was knocked out during Revenge Of The Island. Mal made his debut in Season Five and became the new antagonist.

However, he's also very insecure about his DID and other aspects about himself like his self-worth, as he constantly questions whether he's good enough for Zoey.
Chester[]
Chester, an alter resembling an elderly man, always complains about minor annoyances. He's cranky and quick to anger, and he looks like Mike, but hunchbacked and wrinkly, and sounds like an impression of Abe Simpson, but older. He's triggered whenever Mike is frustrated or under stress, indicating Chester came along to act as an outlet for Mike’s anger.
Svetlana[]

She emerges when Mike encounters a situation that requires a need for grace, balance, strength or agility, indicating Svetlana came along to save Mike from physically demanding situations, including fights.
Vito[]
Vito is Mike's flirty and lustful alter. He is a 'handsome' Italian jerk who flirts with whatever girl catches his eye. Vito looks just like Mike, but shirtless and has a New Jersey accent and a gold chain around his neck. His hair is also gelled and slicked back. He's triggered whenever Mike's shirt comes off. Vito being a massive party animal, indicates he came along to help Mike fit in with other people.
Manitoba Smith[]
Manitoba Smith is Mike's adventurous alter, who's triggered when a situation calls for resourcefulness, courage, or adventurous spirit, or whenever Mike wears a hat. He's meant to be reminiscent of Indiana Jones and Steve Irwin. This indicates he came along to help Mike out when he gets lost and needs directions, or when he needs a courageous pick me up.
Mal[]
Mal, Mike's so-called 'evil' alter, is the more concealed side of Mike, and he seems to come out of Mike's subconscious when a major traumatic event happens in Mike's life or whenever Mike is under extreme mental duress. He is manipulative, deceptive, and malicious, and plays the role of the primary antagonist for All Stars. As a juvenile delinquent, Mal is far more dangerous and aggressive than all the other alters, indicating Mal came along due to the traumatic childhood event that caused Mike to develop DID in the first place, and/or to protect Mike from anyone who would try to abuse him.

According to Duncan, he previously met Mike while they were both in Juvie. There, Mike was no longer fronting, as Mal had take over his system. Eventually, the psychiatrists there were able to help Mike break free from Mal and lock Mal away in the back of his subconscious.
Revenge of the Island[]
When Mike first appears in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!" on Total Drama, he quickly becomes attracted to Zoey, confessing in his initial confessional that he finds her very nice. He worries that his condition might drive her away, as he starts to experience problems related to his Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) throughout the season. He tries to hide his DID, pretending it's just him being a dedicated actor.
The first alter to reveal itself after Mike is Chester, triggered when their strategies to lower a totem pole fail. Chester takes control after hearing Zoey's plea for help when she's about to fall off the totem pole. Another alter, Svetlana, is revealed in "Truth or Laser Shark" when Mike successfully completes an obstacle course, not explaining how he achieved it. Despite their unexpected appearances, Mike doesn't have many issues with Chester or Svetlana. Jo appreciates Svetlana's athleticism, and Cameron intentionally triggers her. Chester's antics are found amusing by Zoey.
However, Vito becomes the biggest problem for Mike, as he flirts with other girls, causing a strain with Zoey. Anne Maria takes an interest in Vito, and their interactions lead to misunderstandings. When Mike panics during an incident involving a giant mutated spider, Vito fronts, further complicating things. Mike tries to apologize for Vito's behavior, but their romantic relationship becomes more complicated.
During various challenges, different alters take control, including Manitoba Smith, who wears a fedora. Cameron learns about Mike's DID and offers to help him with his condition. They cooperate to undo triggers for Vito and Manitoba. However, Scott discovers Mike's DID and uses it against him in "Grand Chef Auto," forcing him to do Scott's bidding under the threat of revealing his secret to Zoey. Mike's refusal to help Scott in the final challenge leads to his elimination.
All Stars[]
In Total Drama: All Stars, Mike returns as one of seven previous contestants. He's on the Heroic Hamsters team with his girlfriend Zoey and his best friend Cameron. While he still has his multiple personalities, this season he can manage them better. However, during the "Evil Dread" challenge, a hit on the head awakens a hidden, darker alter named Mal.
Mike tries to cope with Mal's increasing influence and the fear that Zoey and others will be afraid of him. He and Zoey work together to trigger his other alters, hoping it will help. However, this backfires, and Mike ends up trapped in his own mind with Mal taking control and pretending to be him.
For several episodes, Mal disguises himself as Mike and becomes the main antagonist. Eventually, Mike communicates with his other alters within his mind, learning that they all want to help him get rid of Mal. They free him from a boulder, and Mike confronts and defeats Mal in the finale with the support of his other personalities.
Mike, along with Zoey, competes for the prize money, but the island sinks before Chris can give them their winnings. They, along with Cameron and Gwen, float on a cabin for safety. Mike and Zoey consider not competing again, and Mike even jokes about missing his headmates, causing the two of them to laugh.
