Mike Moriss is the deuteragonist of the action anime original series Ninja Kamui. He, alongside his partner, Emma Samanda, are FBI agents of the Department of Investigation who was given the investigation of the murder of a family of a man named Joe Logan. However, as they dives deeper in the man he is investigating, they are brought into an unexpected deeper plot of incidents that are far more dangerous than Mike may think. In fact, the so-called Joe Logan's true name is actually Higan, a modern ninja who is on a quest to avenge his family.
He is voiced by Atsushi Ono in Japanese and by Shawn Hamilton in English.
Appearance[]
Mike is a middle-aged African man of tall height in around his early 30s. He has short black hair and short beard connected surrouding his mouth. As an official, Mike is usually in his long detective light brown coat and naturally possesses a gun in his outfit due to the dangerous circumstances he could get involved in..
Personality[]
Mike is a serious, responsible, and caring man who has trouble at emphathizing others trouble. He knew that Joe Logan was in deep pain and pressure when he first met him in his visits at a hospital after his brutal battle against his family's murderers. He initially believed that Joe was plotting something unusual, attempting to arrest him. After Joe reveals his true name as Higan. Later, he began to tolerate the fact that he had a deep raging sense of revenge for his loved-ones and team up with him alongside Emma to help him understand what the organization that Higan's family's murderers are from are scheming. He was also in confusion to see how an enemy Higan encountered could possess such durable equipments that can easily cut through the armor he is wearing.
In his personal times, Mike is also a caring and proud father, being profoundly committed to his wife and daughter, toiling ceaselessly to support his family. His daughter admires him for his diligence and dedication. Unfortunately, he and his wife's positions as parents took a tragic turn when their daughter perished in a car crash as a result of a drunk driver. Ariana
, his wife, shockingly conveyed the news for the death of their daughter, despite her frantic efforts to contact Mike for assistance.
The burden of being married to an FBI agent became overwhelming for Ariana. Since then, Mike kept a drawing that his daughter gifted to him, holding it close to his heart. In its intricate lines, she praises her father's dedication to his role as an FBI agent, serving as a poignant keepsake of the love and admiration she felt for him. This emotionally charged encounter continues to trouble Mike, likely intensifying his recurring nightmares. Mike's dedication to his career is unwavering, often prioritizing it above all else, as if his very existence depends on it. Despite the inherent risks, he immerses himself in his tasks with full commitment, even at the peril of sustaining harm.
His compassion shines through in his relentless pursuit of justice, showcasing a readiness to take significant measures to solve the cases he's assigned, despite occasional opposition from higher authorities.
