Miss America is a Golden Age vigilante originally active during World War II. In her secret identity she is a reporter on Liberty Island named Joan Dale, becoming a super-hero after she dreams about the Statue of Liberty giving her powers. Her powers of molecular transmutation were given through secret experimentation by Project M. Derek Trevor is her husband and they raised an adopted daughter Lyta Trevor together, who became Fury. Eventually she took a younger body and began using the name Miss Cosmos. She has been a member of the All-Star Squadron, the Freedom Fighters and the Justice Society of America. Miss America was created by Elmer Wexler, first published by Quality Comics in Military Comics #1. (1941)
