Fred McFeely Rogers, known on television as Mister Rogers, was the host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Voiced by the late Fred Rogers, he is depicted as an anthropomorphic aardvark and guest starred in the Arthur episode "Arthur Meets Mister Rogers", in which he visited Elwood City and stayed at Arthur Read's home for some time.
Rogers's visit to Elwood City initially caused Arthur significant distress, as his friends perceived immaturity in his excitement at Rogers coming to town. While Arthur unsuccessfully attempted to keep Rogers' stay at his home a secret, Rogers moved Arthur, his sister D.W., and their friends with his wisdom and gentleness; he spoke fondly of the Neighborhood of Make-Believe and his friendship with Arthur's mother Jane since her childhood, reminded Arthur that real friends would never ostracize each other, and gave Binky Barnes a gentle comeuppance while visitng Arthur's school.
Rogers eventually left Elwood City and returned to work on his show in Pittsburgh, but returned to the town at Muffy Crosswire's invitation to attend its centennial play.
