Mitch Rapp is a fictional character in a series of novels by Vince Flynn and in the film adaptation of American Assassin

Biography

Mitch Rapp, an American male, decides to take the task of eliminating terrorist cells upon himself after his fiance is killed during a beach attack while on vacation. This vigilante mission of his catches the eye of a black-ops counter terrorism unit for the CIA which he goes on to be recruited by.

  • Early Life

His parents had died in a car crash in Tunisia when he was 14 years old in Massachusetts. After the event, Mitch began to have "discipline problems" as referred to by the CIA, having himself being kicked out of three boarding schools.

  • Beach Attack

He was seriously injured during the attack.

  • Pursuing a goal

After the attack, he considered joining the CIA right after the attack, however he made the decision to pursue the terrorist, Mansur on his own, as he believed he could achieve the task. He rigorously trained himself in knife skills, gun firing / marksmanship and Martial Arts.

Mitch Rapp was trained by former Navy Seal Stan Hurley who served in the Persian Gulf war.

Personality

Prior to the traumatizing attack on the beach, Mitch appeared to be a very laid back, satisfied human being. After the event, he gave up all he had, included his graduation studies at Brown University. But his interest remained in his goal. He would occur vicious mood swings being prone to violence due to his PTSD
