Mitchell Jared "Mitch" Williams is a major recurring character and minor antagonist in the Nickelodeon/Netflix animated series Glitch Techs.

He is voiced by Luke Youngblood.

Biography[]

Mitch is an employee at Bailley's local Hinobi game store, and the majority of his appearances throughout the series branch from seeing him work. He spends the majority of his time focused on the job of a Glitch Tech, tasked with the usual duty of capturing Glitches that escaped from faulty Hinobi video game consoles.

He is a veteran Glitch Tech, and is currently the highest-ranking Tech on the community leaderboards.  Having worked in the Glitch Tech field for a lengthy period of time, he has solid tactics and skills that allow him the opportunity to conquer high-level challenges.

Prior to his employment at Hinobi, Mitch was a renowned vlogger who would demonstrate his gameplay of various Hinobi video games, offering tips and tricks to his viewers. During this time and through his early days as a Glitch Tech, he was a member of the gamer group, The Furious Four, which comprised of himself and his three siblings, as revealed in the episode "I'm Mitch Williams".

Personality[]

Mitch is a complete egotist and an absolute jerk who happily abuses the company's technology to serve his own personal needs and constantly talks down to his coworkers. He also repeatedly used the mind-wipe technology to get food without paying, and once mind-wiped Five because Five beat him in a gaming tournament. Mitch is shown to care more about winning than the victims of Glitch attacks, as seen when Five's friend Casino was infected by a Possessor type Glitch. Despite his antagonistic and selfish demeanor, he has referred to Five as a friend and allowed Ridley to leave Hinobi without a mind-wipe.

Appearance[]

Mitch is a dark-skinned male of medium height with a triangular body type and generally slim build. His hair is a platinum-blonde color, and is combed in a Pompadour style for the majority of the show, but following "The Real Glitch Techs" and onwards, it has been combed in a slight side-swept dreadlocks style (simplified as per the show's art style). During more casual appearances, he wears a dark blue leather jacket with a large propped collar over his Hinobi jumpsuit.

Throughout his appearances in Season 1 and most of Season 2, his default Glitch Tech Suit is similar to others, being fitted over the white and blue Hinobi jumpsuit. It features augmented protective armor that covers the chest and part of the neck with shoulder pads attached, all of a dark greyish-blue colour with light blue patterns, light blue knee pads, a belt and a thigh holster. His visor is unique with a pink tint as compared to the usual blue-green visors, perhaps as a display of his high status as a veteran Tech. His footwear is also customized, with silver platformed soles.

Powers/abilities[]

Glove: Like all Glitch Techs, Mitch comes with an augmented glove with weaponry designed to contain and capture glitches. It has the following abilities:

  • Mind Wipe
  • Energy Blasts
  • Weapon and Shield Formation
  • Portals

Upgrades

  • Dash
  • Speed Boost
  • Overclock: An alteration on the configuration of the gauntlet which greatly augmented the speed of the functions of the gauntlet, giving superspeed to the user, but after 30s of use the gauntlet overheats and stops working for a short period of time, this can be avoided if the overclock is stopped before the time runs out.
