However, the general killed Mr. Mifuna, much to Usagi's grief. In his desperation, he became a rōnin, wandering aimlessly. He hoped to find those who needed his protection and help them to atone for his failure.
Yojimbo[]
During his travels, he encountered a dangerous and ferocious killer wolf named Jei, who killed an innocent family. Jei claimed that his actions were justified, saying that they were infected with evil and the gods revealed their nature to him. Despite this, Usagi called him a demon and attacked him. When Jei got ready to kill Usagi, lightning struck Jei and he disappeared.
Usagi waked up and went to the destroyed village, where he met his friend Akemi, who asked him for help - to protect a spoiled chosen one named Kintaro and take him to the sacred Temple Palace. Akemi wanted to go with them, but she couldn't as she was seriously injured. At night, when Usagi and Kintaro set up camp in the forest, Usagi accidentally stumbled upon four Ninja Turtles, who were affected by Jei's magic when he summoned them from another dimension to destroy the rōnin. As the battle progressed, they all snap out of their delusion and became friends with Usagi, who told them his story.
The Turtles decided to accompany him in the hope that they can find their way home. The following day they all got into a fight with Sumo Kuma and his samurai - the ones who had destroyed the village, who were able to recognize them due to their scent. The Turtles and Usagi fought successfully, but eventually fell off a cliff.
Osoroshi no Tabi[]
Due to the fall, the heroes receive numerous injuries. Leonardo began to argue with Usagi, blaming him for what had happened and not wanting to continue the journey with him. Leonardo began to argue with Usagi, blaming him for what had happened and not wanting to continue the journey with him. However, his brothers convinced him that they had no other choice.
Their journey continued through the "grape forest", during which Mickelangelo and Raphael disappeared. Then it was discovered that they had been abducted by Tanuki, who have the ability to take on the appearance of others. Finding the refuge of the Tanuki, the heroes eventually saved Mickey and Raph. Usagi offered to make an offering so that Tanuki wouldn't continue to bother them.
After the team did this, they entered the cave the cave where the big spider Yoroguma lived, who, taking the form of Usagi’s friend Akemi, was able to drop all the heroes in turn into her web. However, she is suddenly distracted by another Kintaro (who was actually Tanuki), who urged her to catch him. When Joroguma started chasing him, neglecting her prey, several Tanuki appeared around the heroes and began to cut them free. Suddenly, the web began to tear, and everyone falled. Fortunately, Tanuki, using their parachutes, managed to successfully reach a rocky ledge, where they carefully lowered all them. Usagi thanked Tanuki for their help and called on the gods to honor them, after which these beings disappeared as quickly as they appeared.
After leaving that cave, the team finally set up camp, and Leonardo apologized to Usagi. During their vacation, all the Turtles had the same terrible dream, and when they were eliminated, they woke up from it. Usagi explained that it was because they were under the powers of Jei (in reality, he was actually watching them from afar with his magic). Usagi then urged the others to continue their journey, not knowing what danger awaited them beyond the mountain.
Kagayake! Kintaro[]
Usagi, Kintaro and the Turtles continue their journey to the Temple Palace of the Sky Buddha. Along the way, they had to overcome some obstacles and fight with several cat ninjas who wanted to capture Kintaro, but were eventually defeated.
Finally they reached the temple, but it seemed to them that something is wrong. When they entered the courtyard, they suddenly discovered that Jei was waiting for them among with Sumo Kuma. Jei thanked them for bringing Kintaro to the temple, then ordered Kuma to attack Usagi, and began fighting with the Turtles. Usagi was able to defeat his opponent, but by then, Jei was able to regain control of the Turtles and forced them to attack Usagi. They almost overpowered him, but when Leo was preparing to deliver the killing blow, Kintaro's true strength suddenly revealed, as a result of which he was able to block Leo's attack, and then quickly defeat all four Turtles (and also free them from Jei’s spell) and Sumo Kuma.
However, Jei managed to capture Kintaro while Usagi was being held captive by the Turtles. But when Jei began the ritual of transfering his immortal soul into Kintaro to become unstoppable, Leo signals to Usagi that they are released. Usagi watched Leo run Jei with his katana, as a result of which Jei realized that the Turtles are no longer under his control, and used Kintaro against them. This enraged Usagi to the point where he finally managed to defeat Jei by pulling out Leo's katana, which manages to imprison Jei's soul in it, leaving his body to smash to death, ending his threat once and for all.
Then the heroes discovered, that Sumo Kuma, like the Turtles, was enchanted by Jei’s evil, but he's actually the head monk of the Temple Palace of the Sky Buddha. He promised to take good care of Kintaro, and also added that Kintaro is the one who can help the Turtles return home. Using his powers, Kintaro opened a portal, passing through which the Turtles returned back to New-York.
Having completed his goal, Usagi prepared to leave the temple. Kintaro invited him to stay, but Usagi told, that he must go, as there are others who may need his sword. But Usagi promised to come back when the time comes, and then he disappeared into the snow with a smile on his face, knowing that he was still following the Bushido code of the samurai as a rōnin.
