~ Mizrak |
Mizrak is a major protagonist of Castlevania Nocturne. He is a knight of the Order of St. John and works with Abbot Emmanuel to stop the revolution by working with the vampires of France, who holds the same goal as them. Despite this apparent alliance, Mizrak strongly detest the vampiric aristocrats and distrust them due to their nature and what they are planning. Mizrak is loyal to his leader until later events has happen where he abandons his position and helps Richter on defeating Erzsebet Bathory before she conquers the world.
He is voiced by Aaron Neil in the English dub and Motoyuki Kawahara in the Japanese dub.

Mizrak is a heavily religious man dedicated to his job as a knight of the abby. He works with his superior, Abbot Emmanuel, and has been by side for awhile. Like the many knights, he participates in the praying sessions that the Abbot holds for people. Mizrak is very serious when it comes to ideas on god and faith as he told Olrox that he is a strong believer on faith when it comes to bad situations and god. But Mizrak got offended when Olrox brought up that there is demons who were gods while others still are. He affirms to the vampire that there is only one god and has faith in him.
Throughout the story Mizrak and his faction teams up with the vampires because, like Emmanuel, he strongly detest the revolution viewing it as a form of bloodshed of unholy justice. Since the vampires and the abby share the same goal they decide to work together to stop the revolt. Despite the alliance, Mizrak strongly hates the vampires and view them as unholy treacherous creatures, who are just using them as pawns. He is correct in his assumption as Erzsebet manipulated Emmanuel to sacrifice Maria but never told him of her actual intentions. But Mizrak quickly change sides when he notice Emmanuel attempting to sacrifice Maria and went to warn the others about it. He help them to past through his former allies to save Maria from her father and by extension the vampires.
By the end of season 1, Mizrak joins Richter in fighting against Erzsebet Bathory and her vampiric cult. Despite his past alliagence with the vampires and the Abbot, Mizrak is a deeply honorable man, who abandon his duties as a knight in order to do what he thinks is the right thing.
Appearance[]
Mizrak is a fairly muscular man with tan skin and dark brown undercut and brown eyes. He wears a black tunic with a cross symbol on it and chainmail shirt and pants underneath. He wears black gloves and high-knee boots. He also wears a cape around his shoulders. Around his leg is a dagger and holds a saber around his waist with two belts attached to it. By the end of season 2, Mizrak has gain red glowing eyes and pointy ears due to being turn into a vampire by Olrox.
Biography[]
Servant of the Abbot[]

When Richter and Marie are heading to see the Abbot, they are met by Mizrak guarding the door with two of his comrades. They seek passage but Mizrak tells them that he is praying and wonder if they want to join him but they profess that they just want to talk to him about the vampire messiah rumor. Mizrak lets them in and tells the Abbot that Richter and Maria are here to tell him about the vampire situation. After the meeting, Richter says his good byes to both Emmanuel and Mizrak. Later on, Mizrak is attending Emmanuel's religious preaches making sure that the people are safe and praying for an end of the unholy rebellion from the peasants. Later on, Mizrak and Emmanuel receives bodies from the Marquis and place them in the devil machine in order to turn them into night creatures. But they do not realize that a particulier vampire was watching them.
Meeting Olrox[]
In the courtyard, Mizrak was practicing with his blade until he sense an unfamiliar presence and found out a vampire was watching him. This vampire turn out to be Olrox and Mizrak interrogates the vampire with Olrox questioning his allegiance to the vampire aristocrats and by extension Erzsebet Bathory. But he prefers to speak privately in a more comfortable place that is away from prying eyes. After having sex with the vampire, Olrox questions him if Bathory is aware of Emmanuel being a forgemaster Mizrak says that she does and that she wouldn't be interested in him if he was a regular man. Olrox then implies that the Abbot plans to betray her and thinks that the Abbot is confident enough to take her out with the power of his devils. He goes on further about the alliance not lasting and questioning the cost of all of this but Mizrak still believes that the alliance is needed to fight against the revolution.
But when Olrox mentions of demons originally being gods and others still being one Mizrak becomes offended by that statement, stating that there is only one true god. He leaves and heads to the church.
Drolta's visit to the Abby[]

The church is visited by Bathory's enforcer, Drolta Tzuentes, who wanted to meet the Abbot but Mizrak insults her by saying her soul will never be at peace. Of course, Drolta takes an offense to his comment but both Emmanuel and Mizrak tell her that they both don't need to friendly with each other and have a similar goal on stopping the revolution. Mizrak guides Drolta to the basement so she can see the demon machine and its night creatures but were soon interrupted by the Belmont group, who were investigating the place. After Ritcher's group fled, they are visited by Olrox explaining that he is here to meet the messiah while throwing the Marquis decapitated head to Mizrak but the vampires took the Marquis body for a proper memorial.
The Arrival of Erzsebet Bathory[]

Mizrak yelling at Erzsebet Bathroy for asking the Abbot a favor by saying that he is a man of God.
Later on, Mizrak and Olrox meet again with Olrox telling Mizrak that god is threatening him based on the idea guilty men will be judge from death. Mizrak ignores his comment and ask him about his relationship with Richter Belmont Olrox explains his background with his lover and his death. Olrox explains that witnessing his lover fighting among the American revolutionaries was shocking and almost made him believe in such things like freedom until Julia Belmont killed him. Mizrak becomes angry upon realizing that Olrox's lover did not consent to becoming vampire with Olrox confirming his suspicions but argues that he wanted his lover to be with him forever. Mizrak hesitatingly ask him if he was going to be turned as well but Olrox tells him no because he is not in love with him. Afterwards, they witness the arrival of the vampire messiah, Erzsebet Bathory, with Olrox questioning on the idea of using God and religion as an excuse to kill people. Mizrak leaves to join the Abbot so they can welcome Erzsebet to France.

Mizrak and Emmanuel meets Bathory at the chateau and show some of the night creatures they made but still having limitations when it comes to it. Before they make any plans, Erzsebet has a favor for the Abbot but Mizrak angerly tells her that he is a man of God, which offends both Erzsebet and Drolta. They command Emmanuel to sacrifice his daughter but Mizrak becomes confuse until he relize that the Abbot does have a daughter, which turns out to be Maria. Back at the church, Emmanuel has captured Maria with Mizrak witnessing it. He ran to visit Richter's group and tell them that Emmanuel is planning to sacrifice Maria to Erzsebet. While traveling to the church, MIzrak tries to plea his former comrades to abandon their alignment to the vampires but they refuse to listen. After dealing with them, they enter the church and fought the many night creatures in their way while Tera saves Maria.
Mizrak ask his former leader to stop what he's doing but Emmanuel refuse until Drolta and her vampire subordinates arrived to stop what their doing. While Richter is fighting Drolta, Maria and Mizrak fights the vampires while Tera and Annette try to banish the devil machine. When a vampire nearly killed Mizrak from behind, Olrox finally steps in to help. Erzsebet finally arrives to stop the fighting and displays her god-like powers to them. Mizrak attempted to attack Bathory but it was too late when Olrox intervenes by snatching Mizrak away from the city. Mizrak yells at Olrox for running away and ask to help fight Bathory but Olrox says she is too powerful and will kill them. In this moment the vampire reveals his love towards him but Mizrak angrily tells him that he is an animal, who lost his own soul many years ago and runs back to help Richter's group. He sees Richter and Annette fleeing while holding an unconscious Maria and goes with them while on a hill they notice Drolta and her vampires flying after them. They prepare for a fight until they were surprised by a mysterious figure, who single handedly killed Drolta. This figure turn out to be Alucard, the son of Dracula, and he is here to help them.

Trivia[]
- Mizrak being a part of the Order of St. John references the Knights Hospitaller, which is an medieval and modern Catholic military order. The Order of St. John is one of its well-known sects with the organization still being around to this very day.
- Despite one might think, the symbol on Mizrak's tunic is not from the Knight's Templar. It is actually the symbol of the Order of St. John.
