~ Molly to Rocky. |
Molly is the tritagonist of the 2023 Netflix movie Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the sequel to Chicken Run. She is the daughter of Ginger and Rocky Rhodes.
She is voiced by Bella Ramsey, who also played Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, Mildred Hubble in the 2017 version of The Worst Witch, Hilda in the Netflix animated fantasy series of the same title, and Ellie Williams in The Last of Us TV series.
Appearance[]
Due from the movie and the parent and child traits, Molly shares a lot of resemblance to her mother, Ginger. She is a young 12-year-old chick with light orange feathers, a yellow beak, blue eyes, and a green woolly hat.
Personality[]
Just like her parents, Molly is free-spirited and energetic.
However, as a result of her sheltered childhood, having not ever learned about humans, she can be somewhat reckless, jumping into scenarios she isn't prepared for.
But later after she met Frizzle she finds herself in Fun Land Farm that turns out to be death factory for chickens, later she felt like she is now facing regrets for letting her curiosity get the worst of her since she finally realize for what humans really do to chickens and felt guilty, but her mother Ginger cheered her up admitting that she has been trying to escape from a dreadful fenced farm for years. Later Molly regains her spirt and now wants to save frizzle and the chickens from the evil Mrs. Tweedy.
Biography[]
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget[]
Molly was born on the island filled her mind to be optimistic and free spirited, unlike her mother Ginger and obviously her father Rocky, Molly is yet unaware how dangerous the outside world can really be while she never seen a human before, only because her parents tried their best to keep her safe. Later after an argument with her mother, Molly ventured out of the island to see what on the other side while still claiming to be a "big brave girl". Later she met a teenage sass mouth like hen name Frizzle who wants to go to Fun Land Farms as she believes to be the best place ever for getting a bucket. Later after they were selected or kidnapped, Molly was unaware that her family are trying to rescue her.
At Fun Land Farms after they avoid the machine that gives other chickens their collars, at first it looked like an amusement park for chickens until they realize the chickens are brainwashed with those collars when they didn't respond for hesitation or boundaries, which made them look stupid. Molly was ejected on the ground when Dr. Fry arrived and puts a collar on Frizzle, but she wasn't giving up yet soon she escaped and investigate what Dr. Fry is up to after he escorts Reginald Smith the owner of Sir Eats A Lots, to his lair where Molly finally realizes what humans really do to chickens when she witnesses this video, and the fact why her mother was overprotected against her own freewill, but not before witnessing her mother old arch-nemesis Mrs. Melisha Tweedy.
Later Molly reunites with her mother, and before they will try to escape, they witness one of the chickens being the test subject to become a nugget while Ginger tries to tell Molly not to be afraid to witness this dreadful carnage, fearing Frizzle will soon be next and can't escape without her, but Ginger tries to warn her that she has no idea who she's dealing with. Tweedy soon captures Ginger and decided to extract her revenge by giving her a collar so she will never behave so organize and self-aware ever again, and she was almost no match with her strong will. Molly managed to help her mother escape, but the collar itself has now made her annoying and childish, but yet her father Rocky managed to help them escape by distracting Tweedy and Fry. Later she reunites with Mac, Bunty, Babs, Nick and Fetcher (who have already discovered Mrs. Tweedy's return), they were able to remove the collar off of Ginger but ends up in a corn feed silo. Rocky also reunites but was foolish to jump inside rather than realizing he was their last hope. Molly felt guilty and devastated because she was responsible for letting her curiosity of the big world get the worst of her, and Frizzle wouldn't be here either if it weren't for her. Ginger came by her side and lifted her spirit by admitting that she hated being locked up in a farm when she spent years escaping and surviving with her flock.
Later Rocky realizes when there's corn seeds there's popcorn, Molly uses Mac's specs for a magnified glass to heat up the last firework and soon float up and burst out of the silo. Despite their chance to escape while they still can Ginger decided to help Molly rescuing Frizzle and the chickens when she remembers her previous goal back on Tweedy's farm isn't just about escaping for their own lives but saving the whole flock who deserves to be free for a better life. During a struggle Molly and Mac manage to remove Frizzle's collar and reveal the dark secrets about fun land farms. Molly and her team tried to hold the other chickens off anyway they can but the collars to the victims made them stronger to resist, while Ginger and Rocky tried to get the remote to deactivate them, so Molly went to get the remote herself but was caught by Tweedy who forces Ginger to surrender or her only taste of revenge is to slaughter her own daughter as payback.
But Ginger still deactivates the remote while Rocky managed to swipe the axe away from Tweedy with the wires and knock her out with the Handel and fell inside the grinder. They stowaway a truck but Tweedy still survived and refuses to fail again, but Fowler defeated her by knocking her off the truck and into the moat of explosive ducks. A few weeks later Molly and Frizzle are now on recon missions where their goal is to rescue all the chickens from every farm.

- While her father Rockey is only half of being Dory and Coral; both fun loving with no responsibilities, both are clumsy, both lived in America, and both do truly have a protected side.
