Momo Hinamori is a supporting character from the anime/manga series of Bleach. She's the lieutenant of the 5th Division, formerly under Captain Sōsuke Aizen and currently under Captain Shinji Hirako.
She is a childhood friend of the 10th Division Captain, Tōshirō Hitsugaya.
She is voiced by Kumi Sakuma in the Japanese version of the anime and Karen Strassman in the English version.
Appearance[]
Momo is a young, short girl with brown eyes and short black hair, tied back into a small bun surrounded by white fabric. She is usually dressed in the standard black Shinigami outfit, with a lieutenant's armband on her left arm.
Personality[]
Momo is usually a very simple, optimistic and friendly girl, having a strong bond with Tōshirō Hitsugaya, as they have known each other since childhood. However, despite her usually sympathetic attitude, Momo can behave aggressively, which was clearly seen when she felt strong resentment towards Gin Ichimaru, blaming him for the death of Sōsuke Aizen, whom Momo obeyed and admired immensely. However, when it turned out that Aizen not only survived, but also turned out to be a traitor to the entire Soul Society and impaled Hinamori while she was on guard, she suffered a strong mental trauma that bothered her for the next months. Eventually, she managed to pull herself together and headed to False Karakura Town to support Rangiku Matsumoto in her fight against Tier Harribel's Fracción.
Trivia[]
- In the manga, while fighting Hollows in the World of the living, Momo was the only one to use Shakkahō on the giant Hollow. In the anime, however, her Renji, and Izuru all used the Kidō spell on the Hollow.
- In the anime, when Momo comes to the aid of Rangiku against Harribel's Fracción, when Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun all release their Zanpakutō, Momo draws hers from its sheath, and at the same time, it goes to its Shikai form without Momo calling the release command.
- The number of prongs on Momo's Shikai are inconsistent. The anime shows it as three but the manga originally had it as two and then later changed it to three.
