Monolith is a supporting character in the Spawn comics. Originally seen as an antagonist he would become an ally of spawn and eventually a member of The Scorched. He is also the protagonist of the 3 issue mini series named after him.
History[]
Little is known about Monolith's history other than he was an older hellspawn brought fourth by Al's timebomb alongside most of the hellspawns and he would later serve Omega Spawn but secretly plotted to betray him.
Monolith first appears when Spawn and Overkill were traveling to Omega Island home of Omega spawn. There the duo would meet Monolith who manages to destroy overkill and defeat Al. After that Monolith takes al to Omega's hideout so that he can be interrogated and later taken to Omega Spawn. Later on it is shown that he and al team up to take down Omega Spawn and later medevial arrives to help out. Omega seems to have killed Monolith but his body disappeared. Later it is shown he is still alive and fighting against soliders by the time scorched arrived. Monolith explains to them that the universe is gonna crash down due to gaia's plans. Monolith later becomes a member of the scorched in helping them across omega island.
Powers and abilities[]
Monolith being a hellspawn has superhuman strength,speed,staminia,duabrilty,and healing with much greater strength than regular spawns while also being able to use magic.

- Monolith's large size and appearance is likely a homage to the Hulk.
