Moomintroll is the main protagonist of the Moomins franchise.
He is a young Moomin who lives in Moominhouse in Moominvalley with his parents Moominpappa and Moominmamma.
Moomintroll also has a very close best friend named Snufkin, who leaves Moomin Valley each winter, and returns each spring. He is also friends with Sniff and Snufkin's half-sister Little My (whom Moomintroll has a sibling rivalry with).
Moomintroll is also hinted to have romantic feelings for a female Snork (a creature that looks similar to Moomins except that they come in different colours whilst Moomins are white) named Snork Maiden.
In the 1990 animated series, Moomintroll was voiced by Susan Sheridan whilst in the 2019 series Moominvalley, he is voiced by Taron Egerton (Series 1 and 2) and later Jack Rowan (Series 3).
Personality[]
Moomintroll is sensitive, pleasant, curious, brave and shy. He admires adventurous and wise figures such as Snufkin.
Physical Appearance[]
Moomintroll is a small white Moomin with a round tummy and blue eyes. He looks similar to a Hippopotamus. There is a tuft of fur on his tail. He has small ears and five fingers on each hand.
Trivia[]
- He seems to have a crush on, or admiration towards Snufkin in Moominvalley only. He is also fond of Snorkmaiden.
