Moosh is one of three potential animal allies that Link can call on for assistance in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. He is a large blue bear with small wings on his back he can use to fly around with for a short time and can pound the ground with his bottom, smashing any enemies within range of where he slams down.

Biography[]

In Oracle of Seasons, Moosh is needed to acquire the key to access the fourth dungeon of the game, Dancing Dragon Dungeon, but he wants a Spring Banana first, and they are only available when the season is spring, as they are otherwise inaccessible due to the rock flowers not being in bloom. Once Link acquires the power in the Rod of Seasons to make it Spring, he is able to make his way up to the tree to acquire a Spring Banana bushel to give to Moosh. Grateful, Moosh has Link hop on his back to carry him around, allowing him to get over the groups of small pits blocking the way to the key to unlock the dungeon. If Link wants Moosh as an animal companion for the duration of the game, he will need to purchase a Strange Flute from the Horon Village Item Shop for 150 Rupees. When he enters the Spool Swamp to reach the Poison Moth's Lair, the third dungeon, he'll find Moosh being confronted by some of the Great Moblin's men, demanding the Spring Bananas he has. When Moosh eats them instead, the warriors attack, and Moosh fights them off with his ground pound in retaliation. They vow revenge and return shortly after Link speaks to Moosh. After Link fights them off, forcing them to finally give up and retreat, Moosh turns the Strange Flute into Moosh's Flute and helps Link navigate the swamp to reach the third dungeon. However, Moosh warns Link that water is his Achilles' Heel as he can't swim. If Link attempts to enter Sunken City with Moosh, he'll freak out upon seeing all the water and leave his side until Link leaves the town. The Natzu Region of Holodrum will also be modified to accompany Moosh with being known as the "Natzu Wasteland" and be pocketed with lines of small pits only Moosh can navigate with his ability to fly for short periods in order to reach Sunken City.

In Oracle of Ages, Moosh is first encountered in the Yoll Graveyard in present time Labrynna being tormented by three Ghinis. After Link defeats them, Moosh helps him reach the grave of Cheval to acquire the Zora's Flippers and Cheval Rope inside. When Link returns after collecting them, Moosh is glad he could be of assistance and departs from Link's presence for the time being. If Link has not acquired a Strange Flute before reaching the point he needs to get to Symmetry City to reach the fourth dungeon in the Skull Dungeon there, the fairies of the Fairy Woods seek him out to tell him that Moosh has gotten lost in their forest and need his help to find him. Once Link navigates the maze the fairies have made of the forest again to find Moosh, the fairies transport the two of them back to the entrance and then depart. Grateful for the help, Moosh gives Link the Moosh's Flute to call on him if he ever needs help. Moosh then agrees to help Link navigate the Nuun Highlands to find the three workmen needed to finish the bridge to Symmetry City after speaking to Mutoh, the foreman in charge of the project.

In a Linked Game, if Moosh was the animal companion selected in the first game, he'll automatically be the one partnered with Link in the second, giving Link Moosh's Flute again to call on him for help upon reaching the point in the second game where Link needs to access the third or fourth dungeon.
