Mother Goat is the overarching protagonist of the 2018 Japanese stop-motion short film My Little Goat by Tomoki Misato, loosely based on the fairy tale The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids. She's the mother of the goat children and the adopted mother of Natsuki.
Biography[]
In the beginning, Mother Goat and her youngest son, Nono, rescues six of them from a wolf's belly. But her eldest son, Toruku, is missing or dead in deep despair. The bodies of goat children have been burned in acid inside of the wolf's belly, Mother Goat replies where's Toruku. One day, Mother Goat brings Toruku/Natsuki back. Regrettably, she was misunderstood about Natsuki and takes him to her house. Mother Goat tries to restraint Toruku/Natsuki, saying it's her. She replies to him that where have he been, and she tries to look for him everywhere in the woods. Providentially for Mother Goat, Toruku/Natsuki is okay. She seems he looks hungry, so she goes pick some strawberries and tell them Toruku/Natsuki is back that he got lost from the woods. Mother Goat going out to get some food and warns them not to open the door for the stangers when Mother Goat returns, especially the wolf. Mother Goat promises Toruku that she'll try to be back after she closes the door.
Soon return in the midnight, Mother Goat was back home in the hurry. She saw Lecon has been thrown to the wall and tool table by Natsuki's abusive father, who turns out to be a pedophile who symbolically turns into a cunning, dangerous wolf. Then all the goat children have been maltreated, relentlessly harmed. And now, she sees Natsuki about to be molested by him. Thankfully, Mother Goat was right behind Natsuki's father when he begins yelling "Mama" which causes her to act quick before it's too late. Luckily, Mother Goat used her taser on his abusive father before he makes things get desirable on Natsuki was more than reaching much darker territory. Mother Goat was clearly heartbroken after realizing the real eldest Toruku had already been digested by the wolf and couldn't make it in time. She immediately gives Natsuki a very warm and comforting hug. Natsuki hugs her back as he starts crying in her chest, which is followed by the six goat children all hugging their mother and Natsuki. Either way, it'll never let that happen again.
The Mother Goat cuts the Big Bad Wolf open with her scissors. She later does the same to Natsuki's father to fill his torso with rocks before sewing it and throwing his corpse into the river. Someday, the time was passed. The six goat children' wounds are healing, and all had new animal-themed coats to show off. Natsuki decided to take Toruku's old place accepts they are his true family. Mother Goat personally takes steps to ensure The Big Bad Wolf or any wolf will never darken their door again. The goat children agree with her. Mother Goat close the door, then the goat children lock the door before her house has been invaded.
Both the Big Bad Wolf and Natsuki's depraved father are slain by Mother Goat for preying on her family. The end of the Big Bad Wolf is near, and her family was safe forever.
