Mothra Leo or simply called Mothra is the offspring of original Mothra and the main protagonist in the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy.
He later re-appears on Godzilla: Island as a supporting protagonist.
History[]
Rebirth of Mothra trilogy[]
In Rebirth of Mothra, Mothra hatched out from an egg prematurely during a battle between his mother and a space monster called Desghidorah, and immediately set off to help her. After a long battle, the two managed to escape, though by that point, Mothra had been badly wounded, and she collapsed into the sea. Despite his best attempts to help his mother stay afloat, the larva could do nothing as his watched his mother die and sink into the depths of the ocean. Determined to avenge his mother, the larva cocooned himself against a 10,000-year-old tree, and then hatched out as a fully grown giant moth. Afterwards he returns to fight Desghidorah, now transformed into his adult form, one more time, Mothra emerges victorious, and seals Desghidorah away before returning to Infant Island.
In Rebirth of Mothra II, Mothra returns to fight the monster, Dagahra, only to be put at a disadvantage when Dagahra was under the water and infected Mothra with the Barem, but Ghogo used his power to revitalize Mothra into Rainbow Mothra. Afterward, Rainbow Mothra transformed into Aqua Mothra so he could battle at equal terms with Dagahra. Aqua Mothra managed to destroy the beast, killing him once and for all.
In Rebirth of Mothra III, Rainbow Mothra was called into one more battle with King Ghidorah who had kidnapped children, but was clearly no match for him, so he transformed into Light Speed Mothra and travel back in time to kill Ghidorah when he was weaker. He went back to the Cretaceous period and got into a fight with Ghidorah and defeated him, but his tail was cut off and buried in the ground. Ghidorah regrew from the tail and arrived in the present only a day later.
However, thanks to three Primitive Mothra larvae, Rainbow Mothra was contained in a time capsule, which was then hatched in the present day and Rainbow Mothra came out as Armor Mothra. Armor Mothra then returns to fight Ghidorah one more time, and finally managed to destroy him once and for all. Afterwards, Armor Mothra transformed into Eternal Mothra and flew away in peace.
