Motonari Mōri is one of the supporting characters in the Samurai Warriors series. He is the daimyo of the Mori clan of Aki Province during the Sengoku period. He is also a grandfather of Terumoto Mōri and the father of Takakage Kobayakawa and Motoharu Kikkawa.
He was voiced by Hideo Ishikawa, who also voiced Hideysohi Toyotomi in the same series and Zhou Tai of the Dynasty Warriors series.

Motonari is a respecting daimyo who wants to retired and get out from the world and also benevolent towards the people. He is skilled with his archery as well as the tactics but honestly to having very popple so for his family are confessed that much expert. Upon Nobunaga is quite to conquered Kyoto and the shogun withdrawn which making the Mori jeopardly attacked. Unless, his family is thwarted by the Tachibana in the west, the Saika Renegades in the south, and by the Oda army lead by Hideyoshi in the east.
Throughout, he ordered to rejoined the battle since able to stop his land's invasion and his family's firmness. Much to his forecast, the Saika Renegades turned against Nobunaga for the apprehension. Motonari begin managing to fights on the Tachibana clan and gross with faith of them in Chūgoku. When Magoichi stand up to Nobunaga with the help of Motonari's family, on fact result is Hideyoshi's forces retreated and the Oda army challenge to Motonari at Kizugawaguchi.
He is asked to defeat Kanbei although Muneshige's forces were finally to banned the Akechi. Motonari later using his marine to rushing for Nobunaga's vessel, repelled Nobunaga's forces and seizing all the strength. At the Kozuki Castle, Motonari facing Hideyoshi, who resume his assault on Chugoku. He successfully defeated him even when the Tachibana are ambushed by Yoshihiro in Kyushu. Upon the arrival, Motonari was speed up to saved them from too much trouble.

After all is the extremely battles for Aki Province, Motonari maybe to realized that Harukata Sue, an Ouchi retainer who take down his lord and Motonari's remarkable rival, Yoshitaka Ouchi, started as his major menaces to safety. Under the help of his third son, Takakage's strategy, Motonari eventually opposed to Harukata's stout marines at Itsukushima. He later meet his old friend, Takakane Hirokane, who is the strategist just likes to had, reminiscent of him. But then, Motonari knows his friend would reading by tactics which warrant give up his duties.
That is, his friend could fallen therefore, much to his dismay in this marks the fact that they were don't understand each other. Takakage's discuss regarding Hirokane's actions lifts his minds. In the several protests, Motonari facing his other rivals to yield as the vanquisher of the west. After Habei and Kanbet threaten the Mori from Himeji Castle which forcing by Hideyoshi, he offer with Takakage to against them in Aka. Hideyoshi's forces try to hold the advance again by sides with the Amago remnants at Kōzuki Castle.
Motonari put his strategy to setup a rebellion on Miki Castle because he would prevented the Oda attacked from the east. Upon attacked Hideyoshi's behind, he could thinks that Nobunaga ordering Hideyoshi to withdrawn from Kozuki Castle and strike down the Amago guardians. Despite Hideyoshi and company stand against his beginning rules, the Mōri seizing Kōzuki Castle. He later reinforce the castle lord, Munehiro Shimizu, to attacked Hideyoshi's assault together with his son, Takakage.
Samurai Warriors 5[]
Like the previous games, he served as the central power figure of western Japan. On the first place, Motonari picked up his strategy and numbers to attacked the Amago clan and Shikanosuke Yamanaka. Though Mitsuhide Akechi's suddenly reinforcements allowed the Amago forces to exactly claim victory, Motonari will forecast that the war between them is already wins, and the battle-worn Amago forces surrendered. All for it, Motonari accepted to spared their lives in switched for Gassantoda Castle. During the night struggle of Kozuki Castle, Motonari fights with Shikanosuke upon he proposing siege the Amago forces and is menaced by the Oda reinforcements from Mitsuhide and Hideyoshi, which regularly taking some times to murdering Katsuhisa. He later died by battling with Shikanosuke in a tragically mission.
