Motoyasu Kitamura is a major character in The Rising of the Shield Hero franchise. He is a major antagonist turned protagonist in the main series, and the titular main protagonist of the spin-off series The Reprise of the Spear Hero.

He is voiced by Makoto Takahashi in Japanese and by Xander Mobus in English.

Appearance

Motoyasu is a lean young adult man with long blonde hair.

Personality

Motoyasu is a prideful and arrogant man. He can even be depicted as one of the most welcoming of the four heroes for his cheerful and bright demeanor. However, he is has blind trust which makes him a frequent victim of manipulation, particularly by Malty, who ignorantly believes her without question, leading him to wrongly condemn Naofumi. Due to this, he is also shown to have a strong obsession on women and even Filolials (bird-like creatures), particularly Filo, whom he adores to the point of madness openly. He is also passionate, loyal, and courageous.
