Mountain Dwellers are the Heroic Species in the 2023 Science-Fantasy turn-based role-playing game, Honkai Star Rail. Alongside Dromases, they are the Giants who were created by the one of the Titans of Foundation, Georios, the Earth Titan. They are not only providing supplies and transportation, but also a blacksmith and protection for the People of Amphoreus. While they are being peace-loving Giants, they're not hesitate to sacrifice themselves to defend others, including themselves.

In Era Bellica, Mountain Dwellers are the giant-folks who lived in the forest mountains. They lived in the seclusion, a peaceful life away from Strife. However, the war between the Ladonians and the Campanians lead to the Rebellious Geocles observing the movements of the Ladonian Forces. The Ladonian Forces also have announced that they would plant explosives all over the mountain. Fearful because of the Ladon-Campa war would threaten the lives of the Mountain-Dwellers, Geocles return to his village to inform other Giantfolks, but the Mountain Dweller Elders would insist on going for the Peaceful Solution by negotiation. The decision of the Mountain-Dweller Elders left Geocles' heart with anger born from worry. Later on, Geocles has a brilliant solution. He took the Mountain Dweller's store of gemstones and trade with the Ladonian merchants for the gunpowder. However, Geocles isn't using a gunpowders for war against the Campanians, he instead set the forests on fire, forcing his people to flee from the mountain into the city of the human society. However, the lives Mountain Dwellers were then subjugated by the people of Castrum Kremnos during Kremnoans' conquest campaign. Nevertheless, Geocles' actions made the Mountain Dwellers were integrated into the human society of Amphoreus, and Geocles himself was recorded within the folktales in Amphoreus.
While under the enslavement by the Kremnoans, they were forced to work under Kremnoan Dynasty's Compliance by crafting weapons for the soldiers. One of the Mountain Dwellers, Chartonus is recognized by his Bladesmithing skills. At some point, the Kremnoan High Elder commissioned them to create the sword vessel for that could seal the Titan's divinity. In which, the Grand Craftsmen agreed if he's given the finest stones in Kremnos and Nikador's golden ichor. In return for creating the vessel, Chartonus request the Kremnoan High Elder to give his people freedom, not wanting to be the servants / fighters for the Castrum Kremnos, which the elder presumably agreed.
After the fall of Castrum Kremnos, Nikador was reduced into a maddened God after the corrupt Kremnoan Officials seize his sense of reason. The Grand Craftsmen, Chartonus escort his people to flee into the City of Okhema. However, Okhema was also a targeted city for the Kremnoan Conquest. Realizing that the Mountain Dwellers have nowhere to go, they have to defend themselves against the maddened Furiae Soldiers and Nikador. Chartonus sacrifices his own life to hold the Maddened forces of Nikador, but was defeated by the Furiae Praetor, who then attempts to execute him. However, he's saved because of Mydei's timely arrival, though his aggressiveness could unintentionally harm Chartonus.
