~ Mr. Happy's catchphrase in The Mr. Men Show. |
Mr. Happy is the main protagonist, third book and the mascot of the Mr. Men franchise.
He is the mascot of the Mr. Men series and appeared in television adoptions. He acts as his name suggests, but not all the time.
He has been voiced by the late Arthur Lowe in the 70's series, John Alderton in the 80's, the late Gordon Peters in Mr. Men and Little Miss, Donald Corren in the US dub of The Mr. Men Show, Paul Greenberg in the UK dub's first season and Rob Rackstraw in the second season.
Appearance[]
The character of Mr. Happy is perhaps the most simple-looking, merely being a bright-yellow circle with a wide smile, similar to the iconic smiley-face.
Overview[]
His story starts with him going for a walk in Happyland, when he discovers a small door at the bottom of a tree trunk. He then goes through the door, and down a small staircase, where he finds a room at the bottom. Inside the room, Mr. Miserable resides there, who looks exactly like Mr. Happy, except with a big frown instead of a big smile. Mr. Happy takes Mr. Miserable out with him and invites him to stay in Happyland for a while.
Personality[]
Mr. Happy is best described as a merry and positive character. He is always cheerful and very lively, always bringing joy and pleasure to those he meets. Nice and jolly, Mr. Happy always has a smiley face and looks to be pleased with whatever he is doing or whoever he meets. He is also very kind and friendly, often being amused by the things around him. Mr. Happy is always upbeat and eager to help others, giving them a bright and positive outlook. With his quick wit and warm heart, he is able to keep those around him in good spirits and with a smile on their faces. He has the ability to make the most dismal of situations become brighter and bring life back into gloomy surroundings. Mr. Happy is the perfect companion to have around when you need a pick me up or just someone to have a good time with.
