He was voiced by the late Roddy McDowall, which was Roddy's last role before his death in October 3 1998 before the film's release.

A Bug's Life
He helps ants in trouble and dislikes Flik's antics. He is later seen during Flik's exile along with Atta and the Queen and putting him into trouble. After Flik saves the colony from Hopper, he later welcomes back Flik into his colony.

Mr. Soil is Flik's instructor in the tutorial level. He teaches Flik what to do before going on real levels.
