| ~ Mrs. Potato Head to Buzz |
Mrs. Potato Head is a supporting character of the Toy Story franchise.
She is a potato-shaped toy who serves as the voice of reason of her husband Mr. Potato Head, giving him something to mellow himself out from his stern attitude. She is also the adoptive mother of the Little Green Men.
She was voiced by the late Estelle Harris.
Appearance[]
Mrs. Potato Head is based on the Hasbro and Playskool doll with the same name. She wears a white hat with a flower on it, and red shoes. She has black eyes, a pink nose, red lips, and pink ears with yellow earrings. In the third film, she left her right eye in Andy's room and remains one-eyed until she came back to Andy's house from Sunnyside.
History[]
Toy Story[]
Although Mrs. Potato head does not physically appear, she is revealed to have been Molly's first Christmas present.
Toy Story 2[]
One or two years after the first film, Mrs. Potato Head is seen with the other toys before Andy prepares to take Woody to the car. After Woody is taken by Al McWhiggin, she is left alone. She is a rather cheerful character and is eager to adopt three Little Green Men when she learns that Mr. Potato Head saved their lives. Mr. Potato Head has found her lost earring. Before her husband leaves with Buzz and his troops, she stores his "extra pair of shoes and angry eyes" into his back compartment. She is the substitute assistant leader of Bo Peep until Buzz returns home. She is later seen singing with the other toys when Woody is returned home.
Toy Story 3[]
Mrs. Potato Head appears in Toy Story 3, with a major role. She portrays One-Eyed Betty in Andy's imagination. Later, she knows her eye is lost. She and the other toys are donated to Sunnyside. Days later, she and her husband have their body parts scattered by the toddlers. She reveals to the others that Andy is looking for them, still wants them, and Woody was right all along, thanks to her missing eye that is still at Andy's house. Lotso gets angry that the toys are out of the caterpillar room, so he sends his men to arrest her and the other toys. Later, she and the other toys are confronting Lotso until they are almost incinerated in the power plant. The Little Green Men used an actual claw to save her and the rest of the toys. After returning to Andy's house, she finally found her missing eye. Back again, she is donated to Bonnie.
Toy Story 4[]
In the fourth film, much like Toy Story 2, Mrs. Potato Head played a minor role in the story, along with most of the other toys. He biggest contribution to the story is preventing the Andersons from leaving the carnival for Forky's and Woody's returns, with a noteworthy act of hers being that she took part of manipulating the human family's RV to arrive at the carousel, where she sees Bo Peep again.

Trivia[]
- She is the only female toy in Andy's collection to not be human-based, being that she's based off a vegetable.
- Although the ending of the first Toy Story film has her being one of Molly's Christmas gifts, it's rather strange that years after that in Toy Story 3, it's confirmed that she's later in Andy's possession. This could imply that Molly might've lost interest in her and has since let Andy own her. Ironically, during the third film itself, she seems estatic about owning most of Andy's toys just as he's putting them in the attic when he was about to head off to college, with one of those toys being Mrs. Potato Head herself.
- This instance greatly contrasts Bo Peep's toy ownership case, where although she's often seen being played by Andy, it's later confirmed in Toy Story 4 that she's truly Molly's toy, easily implying that Andy's borrowing Bo for his playtime with his own toys.
