Naga, also known as the Divine Dragon, is the overarching protagonist of Nintendo's Fire Emblem franchise, specifically during the Archanea and Jugdral Sagas.

She is the aloof but benevolent Divine ruler of humanity and the leader of the Divine Dragons, who is hailed as a deity by many humans due to her kindness and sympathy towards humanity. Having been historically involved in a number of mankind's conflicts, she is responsible for creating numerous holy weapons that the heroes in the franchise would use such as the Falchions, the Binding Shield, and the Book of Naga.

She is also responsible for having her Holy Blood carried out through the both the ruling dynasty of Grannvale and the Ylissean royal family. She is also the mother of Tiki.

In Japanese, she is voiced by Momoko Ohara in Fire Emblem Awakening and Satomi Satō in Fire Emblem Heroes. In English, she is voiced by Mela Lee.

Appearance[]

While her true form isn't shown, Naga is shown to take the form of a tall and beautiful woman with green long slender hair wearing pure white robes, with the upper top of her clothing being visibly exposed.

Personality[]

From what is described about Naga, she is stated to be a benevolent and divine being who has great love towards humanity, but yet is also considered to be distant and even almost cold by human standards, as while she does have a sincere desire to protect humanity to the point of giving them power numerous times, she was never too fond of interacting directly with them, unless it was truly necessary. Naga even told Forseti that it would be silly to remain in Jugdral when the latter desired to do so to protect humanity. Furthermore, she appears to be a humble figure, since, despite her divine status, she often acknowledged that she was only an exceptionally powerful Manakete.

In spite of her admirable love for humanity, her judgment is often clouded by it, as some of her actions can appear to be questionable and even ruthless. For example, she was willing to kill her own daughter even if it meant protecting humanity, should Tikki degeneration like the other dragons. Despite being advised not to do so, she instead decided to place Tikki into a long sleep that was never meant to be broken. This shows that despite her benevolence, she is not above being ruthless to achieve her goals.

Surprisingly Naga, for someone who is as majestic as the Divine Dragon, can also be laid back and have a dry sense of humor. For example in Awakening, she encouraged Morgan and Nah to be together after the latter prays to her to receive her blessing. In Heroes, she was greatly curious about the harvest of Askr's harvest festival.
