Nathaniel, also known as "Nate", is a supporting character in Cobra Kai.
He joins the Cobra Kai Dojo at first, but then defects to Miyagi-Do Karate.
He is portrayed by Nathaniel Oh.

Season 2[]
Nathaniel is among with several teenagers, including Mitch and Chris, to join Cobra Kai after seeing Miguel Diaz's impressive performance at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament. During a training session where students must mix concrete in the cement mixer, he, along with Aisha Robinson, Bert, and several others, watched Miguel, Hawk, Mitch, Chris, and few others pushing the cement drum together.
The morning after Hawk and few Cobra Kai's trashed Miyagi-Do dojo under John Kreese's order, Daniel LaRusso confronts Johnny Lawrence for his student's actions, which results in Nathaniel, Chris, and a couple students leaving the dojo after realizing Cobra Kai's ruthless teachings have gone too far for them.
After defecting Cobra Kai, Nathaniel along with several others, join Miyagi-Do Karate, to Samantha LaRusso, Robby Keene, and Demetri's dismay due to believing that the new recruits trash the dojo and Chris' involvement in the mall fight. After a struggle of letting go of Cobra Kai's philosophy and adapting Miyagi-Do's teachings, Nathaniel and the other students started to work together as a team.
Nathaniel attends Moon's party along with his Miyagi-Do friends and comes face to face with Cobra Kai. Nathaniel participates in a dance battle against Cobra Kai student, Edwin, with the crowd cheering for him when it was his turn to dance. When the fight at West Valley School between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do occurs, Nathaniel fights Cobra Kai student, Bert. During their fight, Bert breaks Nathaniel's glasses through a kick. In response, Nathaniel gets the upper hand by tackling him to the ground and punches him repeatedly until both of them were taken away by a security guard.
Season 3[]
Nathaniel returns to school two weeks after the fight. He, Demetri, and Chris have a confrontation with Bert, Hawk, and Mitch. Shortly, Counselor Blatt arrives and asks if everything is okay before the rivals walk away. Nathaniel and Chris briefly encounter Moon and Yasmine with Nate mocking Yasmine by saying “Sup front wedgie.”
The Miyagi-Do students make a fundraiser through a car wash to fund Miguel's surgery, to help him recover from his injuries he received at the end of the school fight, with Nathaniel collecting the money. Later that day, however, Hawk, Mitch, and one Cobra Kai student confront him, steals the money, assaults him, and takes the credit. After being being up, Nathaniel and the other Miyagi-Do's heads Sam's house to break the news, where he tells her what happened after the group left the car wash. Realizing how strong Cobra Kai has gotten, Sam decides to re-open Miyagi-Do and train with Nathaniel and the others without her father, who's currently in Okinawa, Japan to save his dealership. Sometime later, Nate managed to recover from his injury.
One night, Sam and Miguel invites both Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, formed by Johnny Lawrence, to her house, where she suggests that both dojos must start working together to take on Cobra Kai. Although Nathaniel and the rest of the students are against this, but when Demetri makes a speech about how they should work together to take on Cobra Kai, they agree on it. Later, Sam's house was broken in by Cobra Kai. Nathaniel and the others are attacked by the Cobra Kai's led by Hawk and Tory Nichols. At first, they initially struggle, but eventually gain the upper hand when Hawk has a change of heart and decides to switch sides, helping Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang defeat the Cobra Kai's.
Sometime after the fight, Nathaniel and his Miyagi-Do friends were joined by Eagle Fang when they show up at Miyagi-Do as Johnny and Daniel prepare to work together to train their students for the upcoming All-Valley. Having befriended each other and ended their rivalry, Nathaniel and Bert shake hands as training begins.
Season 4[]
Nathaniel, along with the other students would listen to Johnny and Daniel's speech about Cobra Kai. As things were beginning to looking upwards for Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, tensions rise between Johnny and Daniel as well as Chris, Nate, and former enemy Hawk. Chris and Nate confronts Hawk over his past actions during his time at Cobra Kai.
Eventually, Nathaniel and the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang help clear out space at the Miyagi-Do dojo after Hawk came up with an idea to build an Okinawan sparring deck like the painting and the two dojos were able to create it. As Daniel and Johnny agreed to train their dojos with a different style, Nate and the Miyagi-Do students would train with Johnny.
At school, Nathaniel and Bert, who were discussing their plans for the upcoming junior prom, encounters Kenny Payne in the bathroom. They insult Kenny Payne for his affiliation with Cobra Kai. When Kenny was about to punch them, he is stopped by Hawk, who warns Kenny about Cobra Kai and tells him to leave if he still can. Nate and Bert were also at the drive-in where they almost get into a confrontation between the Cobra Kai's, Eagle Fang's, and the Miyagi-Do's, with Nate berating Robby, now a Cobra Kai student, for betraying Miyagi-Do. The confrontation ends with Miguel pranking the Cobra's with sprinklers.
Once things start to escalate even further between both sensei’s, with Daniel and Johnny having a 1984 rematch where the winner will take over the training. Nate and Bert watches the fight among the crowd. The fight results the sensei's knocking each other out and no winner is declared. After an argument between the sensei's, the plan for both dojos to work together comes to an end, with Nate staying with Miyagi-Do.
Both dojos begin to train separately before the All-Valley and just as they do, a new set of adjustments for the tournament head their way, including a separate division for the ladies as well as a weapons display and a division for the boys. Daniel insists that this is good news and lets his male students know he believes in them, but his positivity is later denied by Demetri and Chris. Eventually, Hawk comes to Miyagi-Do, having decided to join Miyagi-Do rather than remain in Eagle Fang, and Nate and the others welcomes him back.
On the day of the All-Valley, Miyagi-Do are one of the first up to present their skills in the weapons display. Nate is holding a board for Eli's board-breaking skills, but Eli was unsuccessful in breaking the board. During the matches before the quarter finals, Nate faces Kenny before losing to him when he used the drum technique Daniel learned from his first time in Okinawa. Nonetheless, he celebrates with Miyagi-Do after Hawk wins the boys division against Robby.
Season 5[]
Nate and Miyagi-Do meet where Daniel LaRusso says that he is adhering to the bet and is closing down the dojo. He ends the meeting saying that Miyagi-Do will remain inside of them.
Nate is with Bert and Chris where they catch Mitch eating a brownie from Cobra Kai's new location at a strip mall, causing him to put down the free snacks and leave with the group. Later, both Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang students (including a redeemed Robby) begin training with Chozen Toguchi. He gives each student an egg as well as time to hide. Although they initially struggle at first, Nate, and the rest of the crew, work together as a team and beat Chozen at his own game thanks to Anthony LaRusso's suggestion of working together like a raiding party in Dungeon Lord.
Later, Nate, along with Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, goes to the Cobra Kai dojo for the Sekai Taikai qualifications. When Samantha LaRusso easily wins the girls match, the organizers are impressed and let Miyagi-Do qualify, causing Bert and the rest of them to celebrate. He later attends the afterparty at Miguel's apartment.
Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, along with a redeemed Tory, arrive at the Cobra Kai dojo to find evidence on Silver. Nate asked why is Tory on their side and Sam explains the answer. It turns out the video of Silver beating up Kreese was removed and Tory and the group decided to use the video of Terry confessed his bribery to Tory days earlier. However, Cobra Kai students arrived to confront them. Kenny and Kyler reveal that Mitch rejoined Cobra Kai and tipped them off the Miyagi-Fang's plan to break into the dojo. A fight later breaks out. Nate and the rest of the Miyagi-Fang were able to work together to hold off the army of Cobra Kai students, while Anthony uses Demetri's tablet to upload the video of Silver's confession to Tory through the dojo's TV.
Daniel and Silver then show up and they both face other in a fight, resulting in Daniel winning, defeating Silver.
Season 6[]
Part 1[]
At Miaygi-Do, Nate is sparring with Bert, Chris, and Devon. Shortly, Mitch arrives, having rejoined Miyagi-Fang after quitting Cobra Kai. However, they are upset over Mitch's betrayal but make up with him after he promised not to make any more heel turns by showing his half Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang shirt he's wearing.
During training, Hawk tells Chris, Kenny, and Nate about his excitement about where the Sekai Taikai is going to be held with Chris guessing that it may be in Taiwan since he's been wanting to eat Din Tai Fung despite Nate telling him that there's one in Glendale much to Chris' surprise. The next day, Hawk shows a video of Gunther revealing that the tournament will take place is in Barcelona, Spain. However, he explains the selection process and that each dojo would need to pick six fighters, much to the disappointment of the students.
Before the tournament, Mike Barnes has the students undergo rigorous training processes. After the first session, Nate is one of the twelve students who moves on to the next round. While training in the dojo at night, Yasmine arrives and asks about Demetri. Nate directs her to Miyagi's old house where Demetri is waiting for her. After the next round, Nate ends up losing a spot after all of his flags were taken by his classmates. He then watches the tiebreaker race between Hawk, Demetri, Kenny, and Devon in the woods which results with Demetri and Devon's victory. With training over, Nate remains in the valley with several of his classmates while Johnny, Daniel, Robby, Sam, Miguel, Demetri, Devon, and Hawk (who replaced Tory after she dropped out of the team following her mother death) heads to Barcelona to compete in the Sekai Taikai.
Part 2[]
Nate, Bert, and several of their classmates watch the Sekai Taikai semi-finals at the LaRusso house with Anthony and Amanda LaRusso. However, they witness an all-out brawl between all dojos with Nate and Bert wishing they could’ve been there to help Miyagi-Do by sneaking into a plane in a random person’s luggage. The fight ends with the death of Cobra Kai student, Kwon Jae-Sung, much to everyone’s shock.

- He is best friends with Bert's actor, Owen Morgan, in real life, and have known each other prior to the show, which is somewhat ironic, that in the show, they seemingly hate each other until the third season where they become friends.
- Nathaniel is the second Korean-American character on the show, following Kyler Park of Cobra Kai and followed by Devon Lee of Eagle Fang.
