Nazuna Nanakusa is the deuteragonist of the fantasy romance anime and manga series Call of the Night. She is a female vampire who encounters a middle-school boy, Kou Yamori whom he befriended with. The two of them would grow into a closer relationship as the boy declares that he wants to fall in love. In her early life, she was nurtured by Kabura Honda and was present at Kōgyō High School where she also met the detective, Kyouko Mejiro.
She is voiced by Sora Amamiya in Japanese and by Natalie Rial in English.
Appearance[]
Nazuna is an elegant woman of below-average height. Being just as tall as Kou, a middle school student, despite being in her 40s, she has the appearance of a young lady with pale skin, azure-coloured irises, and pale purple-coloured hair often seen tied in two-ring braids on both sides near her ears. As a vampire, she has fangs and other common vampire traits. Heavy pink makeups also frames near her eyes.
She mostly wears a dark coat wrapped around her shoulders. Under, she wears a revealing colorless outfit that leaves her cleave visible, a short, and a pair of long long boots. When working as a massage therapist, she sports a white nurse outfit.
Additionally, largely like other vampires that have appeared in the series, she has been viewed as an attractive and adorable woman.
Personality[]
Nazuna is mostly a chill and carefree individual. Acting arrogant from time to time with those like Kou, Nazuna gets commonly uncomfortable and distressed when a topic related to love is being discussed. Nazuna is unabashedly open about sexual topics and has no qualms about discussing them openly. Further on, she is also Nazuna is characterized as naught, which is often described as being even lower than that of a middle schooler. She exhibits this immaturity through her behaviour and attitudes toward various aspects of life, particularly in relation to sexuality and romance.
She can be rude to others by casually shouting out obnoxious remarks without seeming aware of other's reactions.
She has excellent socializing skills toward anyone as long they appreciate the night just like her. Due to possessing eternal life, she often gets drowned in boredom and tries to kill time by playing video games and consuming alcohol. If not, she would be usually seen hanging out outside at night around the city, often seen by Kou's side or interacting with other citizens she befriended.
Not caring if others would know if she is human, she does not often openly reveal she is a vampire to anyone.
Relationship[]
- Kou Yamori: A middle-school boy she met at night, whom she confronted who just bought a can of alcohol from the vending machine. They became great friends as the boy mentioned that he enjoyed the night and began to meet every night and hang around the town.
Upon deciding to sleep together as she invites him into her apartment, she tried to suck the boy's blood as he closes his eyes. Pretending to sleep as he closes his eyes, he is bitten by the woman who gets surprised about the taste of the boy's blood.
Upon finding out that she is a vampire, Kou requests for the woman to make him his offspring, into a vampire. Nazuna explains that this must be done if he falls in love, which is something that Kou states that he does not possess as he is having a hard time developing feelings in his school life due to the negative interactions he had with his female classmates. As time goes Kou tries his best to develop feelings toward Nazuna, which succeeds as Nazuna gives him a kiss further on. This love even leads her to bear protection to the boy, a dangerous love that can cause her to harm anyone who does harm to Kou.
