Nefer is a supporting playable character in the 2020 open-world fantasy roleplaying video game Genshin Impact. She is the head of Nod-Krai's Curatorium of Secrets and is the boss of Jahoda. She serves as one of the deuteragonists in Song of the Welkin Moon Quests and the overarching protagonist in the limited Ruins Exploration Quest and the Prologue Archon Quests.
She is voiced by Ashleigh Haddad in English, Zeng Tong in Chinese (who also voiced Jane Doe in Zenless Zone Zero), Mizuki Nana in Japanese (who also voiced Hinata Hyūga in Naruto franchise, Saya Kisaragi in Blood C and Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist), and by Won Esther in Korean.
Appearance[]
Nefer is a tall woman with fair skin, green eyes with triangle pupils, and dark green hair that is in a short wolf cut. Her right eye has a tattoo similar the Eye of Ra. She also has fangs and a snake-like appearance.
Unlike many of the Nod-Krai characters, her outfit is stylized in Sumeru fashion. She wears a dark green top with a yellow bottom that is held together by a golden belt, a golden headpiece with two horn designs, golden wing-like earcuffs that have green triangle-shaped earrings dangling from the bottom, long dark gloves with gold pieces that cover her fingers, golden high heels, a cape with three stripes, and a golden dendro Moon Wheel located on her back.
Personality[]
Nefer is a highly knowledgeable yet mysterious woman who has a mind comparable to a formidable database, being able to see into the past, present, and future.
Nefer enjoys dealing in information, having arranged a large intelligence network and sells information to anyone who is willing to pay the appropriate price for it. When handling business with her clients, Nefer maintains an air of confidence and authority, wisely choosing her words in order to maintain the upper hand, as shown with Dori, who is much more cautious around her compared to her other clients. She has a somewhat shaky relationship with Lauma, as the Moonchanter appears to know her a bit too well to her liking. Despite this, Nefer is still willing to help her out. She also cares greatly about her pet cat, Ashru.
Nefer also seems to be a bit sadistic, clearly being amused while chasing down people who have lied to her.
As a former desert dweller as the heiress of an Eremite tribe prior to the Akademiya's reform, Nefer does not have fond memories of her time in the desert due to the hardships she endured, especially the memories of the massacre of her tribe. In the past, she was also ruthless and vengeful as she had an entire tribe killed after they caused the death of her tribe, though she did show regret for it.

- Like Chiori, Nefer's clothes are in a different style than the nation she lives in.
- This is because they live in foreign countries.
- Nefer is the first non-Fatui character in Genshin Impact whose special dish is of another nationality than their vision.
- Nefer is the first female player character therein known native to one of the seven nations on the continent of Teyvat, but gains a Vision of another, after males viz. Bennett (Natlanese with Mondstadt Vision), Thoma (Mondstadter with Inazuman Vision), and Wanderer (Inazuman with Sumeru Vision).
