New Bobert

New Bobert is a minor character in The Amazing World of Gumball who makes his sole appearance in the episode "The Upgrade." He is a black version of Bobert 6B (produced as part of the Bobert System), made alongside other color variants of the same product.

He is voiced by Alex Jordan.

Appearance[]

He is a small black robot with clamp-like hands, black arms, and a speaker for a mouth that lights up blue when he speaks. He has a large white eye in the center of his head with a black pupil, also surrounded by a thick black rim.

Essentially, he looks near-identical to the original Bobert, primarily distinguished from him due to his black color.

Personality[]

As a command-following robot designed to assist users, he seems to share a personality similar to Bobert—highly analytical, amoral, and extremely intelligent, but exhibits less humanity and true emotion in comparison. Equipped with various apps, he appears to be programmed to protect sentient life, as seen when he rescues Gumball, Darwin, and Bobert. Despite this, he seems to lack empathy, as he shows no remorse or hesitation when abandoning Bobert to fall to his death, claiming that he is not permitted to carry three passengers at once at his current battery level.

Biography[]

After installing a faulty upgrade on Bobert 6B, Gumball and Darwin head to the Bobert Store for help. Instead of downgrading Bobert as requested, the staff replaces him with New Bobert and sends Bobert 6B off to a factory. Using New Bobert's "Find My Bobert" app, Gumball and Darwin track him down and ride on top of New Bobert to save their friend.

The trio reaches the plane carrying Bobert, opens the cargo hold, and everything spills out, including a frozen Bobert. Gumball leaps through the air to rescue him, but Darwin appears below, riding on the flying New Bobert, who clears the way by shooting lasers at falling debris. Gumball asks New Bobert to fly all three of them to safety, but New Bobert can only carry Gumball and Darwin, leaving Bobert 6B to fall due to insufficient battery power.

In the end, Gumball manages to save Bobert 6B, and New Bobert is returned to the store. Gumball and Darwin ultimately insist that they prefer the original Bobert, flaws and all.
