Nezu, also called Principal Nezu or Mr. Principal, is a character in the anime/manga series My Hero Academia. He is the principal of the heroic's academy U.A. High School and is an extremely rare case of an animal who developed a Quirk.
He is voiced by Yasuhiro Takato in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Jerry Jewell in the English version.
Appearance[]
Nezu appears to be a stoat, humanoid hybrid of a number of animals, including; a dog, a mouse, and a bear. He has the head of a mouse, with a nuzzle and rectangular ears, a scar that goes across his right eye, both of which are circular and black, as well as a tail. He wears a suit befitting of his role as principal that consists of a white shirt, red tie, along with a black waistcoat and pants. He wears big, orange sneakers that seem quite similar to the shoes that Izuku Midoriya wears.
Personality[]
Principal Nezu is a somewhat eccentric, yet polite and well-mannered man who is dedicated to teaching his students become heroes. He is incredibly clever and intellectual, able to formulate complex plans and strategies with little to no effort. A part of him seems to also empathize with villains, wondering whether or not they could be rehabilitated if given the right opportunity and teaching.
He is not without his dark side however, as Nezu was once cruelly experimented on by humans and gets his vengeance in some situations. This is perfectly shown during the Final Exam, where he caused the building arena to collapse around Denki Kaminari and Mina Ashido while laughing sadistically at their struggles. His temper, while rarely shown, seems to be off-putting and capable of unnerving his fellow teaching staff.
