Wade Winston Wilson, also known as Nicepool, is a supporting character in the 2024 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Deadpool & Wolverine. He is a variant of Deadpool that was banished to the Void.

He was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds

Personality[]

In contrast to most of his varients, Nicepool was a nice and warm-hearted mercenary, who did not have violent inclinations. He takes pride in his looks and as such feels the need not to wear a mask. Nicepool was also extremely attached to Mary Puppins, known better as Dogpool, as he insisted that Dogpool had to stay with him when his Variant wished to adopt the dog, which was the only aspect that he was selfish about.

Perhaps playing into his Canadian background with the stereotype of Canadians being very polite and generous, thus the preconception serving as a reason for his kindnesses. His Canadian accent was slightly more exaggerated, since he would pronounce a word like "sorry" as "soor-ry."

Despite being a member of the Deadpool Corps, he didn't participate in their violent obligations, and seemed to dislike fighting in general, which in turn made them disregard him. His pride about his appearance indicated perhaps a sense of vanity, which was also reflected in his firearms being gold-plated Desert Eagles; despite having custom pistoleros, this was likely only an ornamental purpose due to his aforementioned vanity and pacifism.

History[]

Nicepool at some point was banished to the Void. In the Void, Wilson went by the name Nicepool, as a way to distinguish himself from other Deadpools, and lived alongside his pet, Dogpool. He was generous as he offered his only transport to be taken by Deadpool and Wolverine.

He later reunited with them when the two returned back to Earth-10005 to prevent Cassandra Nova from destroying all worlds. When the Deadpool Corps arrive, Nicepool ends up being caught in the crossfire when Deadpool grabs him to defend himself from their bullets. After his head exploded, Deadpool attempted CPR upon his bullet-ridden body. When Wolverine chastised him for getting his pleasant variant killed, Deadpool denied it, though promised to "honor" him by using his gold-plated guns against the Deadpool Corps.

Nicepool's beloved pup found her way back to Deadpool after the danger had been dealt with, so at least Nicepool's Dogpool would have a loving home despite his death.
