Nicholas "Nick" Hawley is the anti-heroic deuteragonist of season 2 of Tv Show Sleepy Hollow.
He is a weapons and artifacts dealer who was first introduced as the contact of Jenny Mills and later joined the Witnesses. He is knowledgeable about artifacts and the occult. By the end of Season 2, Hawley is currently hunting the Vetala; Carmilla Pines on his own to protect Jenny, Abbie, and Crane, and his further fate remains unknown.
He was portrayed by Matt Barr.
History[]
Hawley is first mentioned by Jenny when she recommends that Ichabod and Abbie look for someone who can read the ancient manuscripts, a reference to him. Not much is known about Nick's past, but all that has been implied is that he doesn't have, or want, any information on file about his existence [3] and he had a beneficial relationship with Jenny. When Nick was twelve, his parents died in an accident on Christmas Eve and he was placed with his tutor Carmilla Pines, but after he saw her commit murder he was horrified and ran away and hasn't they met again until ten years later.
Personality[]
Due to a tragic event that occurred as a child, Nick remained mysterious. Business is more important to him than anything else. The End of Days is more about acquiring rare artifacts for sale, than fighting evil. Ichabod considers Hawley a "privateer" whose only allegiance is to his money, and is disgusted by his mercenary attitude. Nick also has a sarcastic sense of humor in that he finds Ichabod's arcane style bizarre, so he calls him nicknames like "Shakespeare" and "Pride and Prejudice".
He can also be extremely charming, as he can seduce many women, including Jenny. But when these tricks don't work on certain girls, like Abbie, he feels discouraged and disappointed, because deep down he's sensitive.
