Nico is one of the three tritagonists (alongside Pedro and Rafael) of the Rio franchise. He is a small yellow canary who wears a bottle-cap on his head for a hat. He also uses it as a boomerang-weapon and a tambourine. He is best friends with Pedro, but they are different in some ways.
He is voiced by Jamie Foxx, who also portrayed Will Stacks in the 2014 adaption of Annie, President James Sawyer from White House Down, Max Durocher from Collateral, Django Freeman from Django Unchained, Vincent Downs from Sleepless, the 2017 American remake of the 2011 French film, Sleepless Night, and voiced Joe Gardner from Soul and Bug in the 2023 film Strays.

Nico is tiny yellow Canary with yellow feathers that has brown on the tip of his wings and underwings that are white. He also has a white chest. His eyes are brown and both his beak and legs are bright orange. The most notable feature about Nico is his green and blue bottle cap on his head, the design on the cap are curvy wide lines.
