~ Vegapunk sees Luffy as Sun God Nika. |
Nika, also known as The Warrior of Liberation and Sun God Nika, is one of the overarching protagonists of the One Piece franchise. He is known to be the name of a mythical warrior that was once revered as the Sun God by slaves from the ancient times.
According to the lead scientist of the science group and marines, Vegapunk, Nika's existence is only recorded in the most ancient of texts, having been otherwise erased in more modern documents, mostly covered up by the hands of the World Government to keep the whole world from known his existence. As many long years had passed, Nika's legend had been passed down for generations to the Buccaneer people and the giants of Elbaf.
Appearance[]
Based on his single, silhouetted appearance, Nika seemed to be a lanky, warrior-like figure with noodly limbs and flame-shaped hair. He apparently wore something on his thighs, but nothing else. According to Dr. Vegapunk, Luffy's awakened form looks like Nika as he was described in ancient texts.
Personality[]
During the ancient times, Nika was known to be a heroic and benevolent figure, a friend of slaves and adored by them. It was also said that Nika would one day come to free the slaves from their oppressive masters and bring smiles to their faces, while spreading joy wherever he went.
It is rumored that one of his greatest strengths was also his weakness. This double-edged sword being his playful attitude. He supposedly brought joy to all around him - however, it left him incapable of taking his enemies seriously; along with his jubilant mind set, his kind demeanour prevented him from striking down his adversaries, even though he purportedly had the power to do so, especially considering it took an enormous collaboration of forces to kill him.
Powers and Abilities[]
According to legend, Nika was known to be a great warrior in ancient times and he was seen holding a spear and a sword.
From head to toe, Nika’s body was elastic as rubber itself, which it allowed him to fight in just about any manner he could think of against his enemies. The variety of ways one could fight with this ability is completely similar and seen with Luffy and his usage of the Devil Fruit modeled after the Sun God himself. Luffy's Fifth Gear was seen as a close reincarnation of Nika, thus suggesting his Devil Fruit powers were Awakened after many years of waiting since Joy Boy obtained the same Devil Fruit.
Trivia[]
