The Nine Red Scabbards (also known as Akazaya Nine in Japanese) are a major organization in the One Piece franchise, being one of the major characters of the Wano Country Saga.
They are the elite and most loyal retainers to the Kozuki Clan of Wano. Originally they served under Kozuki Oden and learnt education and sword-skills under him, and after Kaido and Kurozomi Orochi killed Oden, they dedicated themselves to avenging him by killing Kaido and Orochi, and freeing their home from the tyrants' grasp.
History[]
The Nine Red Scabbards were first formed when Kin'emon, a delinquent in the Flower Capital, witnessed Oden's battle with the Mountain God. Denjiro, also witnessing this, was impressed by Oden's strength and decided to follow him. During their travels, Oden and his group also picked up Kanjuro, Kikunojo, Izo and Ashura Doji.
Several days later, Oden and his group found Inuarashi, Nekomamushi and Kawamatsu being persecuted by some people. Oden rescued them as they decided to follow him as well. Due to their delinquence, Oden decided to invest in their education.
