Noodle (Wonka)

Noodle is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Lofty) of the 2023 musical fantasy film Wonka. She is an orphaned girl who works as a servant for the greedy con artists Bleacher & Mrs. Scrubitt in the Scrubbit household. She assists Willy Wonka on his journey of becoming a chocolatier.

She is portrayed by Calah Lane.

History[]

Early life[]

Noodle was born to Dorothy Smith and Zebedee Slugworth. One day, Dorothy brought Noodle to her lover's brother Arthur Slugworth and begged him to get a doctor for her sick daughter. Slugworth, worried that his niece could claim the family fortune, secretly dropped Noodle down the laundry chute of the Scrubbit household and paid Mrs. Scrubitt to keep her there as a servant. She eventually meets Abacus Crunch, Piper Benz, Lottie Bell, and Larry Chucklesworth, all of whom were scammed into the Scrubbit household.

Wonka[]

Noodle first appears when she meets Willy Wonka after he is scammed into the Scrubbit household. She is initially suspicious of him, but she quickly warms up to him after he shows her some of his candy-making techniques. She and the other scammed servants at the Scrubbit household later help Wonka secretly sell his chocolate while avoiding the corrupt Chief-of-Police, who is bribed by Slugworth & The Chocolate Cartel to make sure Wonka doesn't sell his chocolate. After Wonka was forced out of town by The Cartel after making a deal to pay of his friends debts everyone except Noodle is released from their contracts after Mrs. Scrubitt revealed she is being paid by Slugworth to keep her there forever she is then locked in a tower known as The Coop until Wonka and her friends break her out. They plan to expose The Cartel's crimes by breaking into The Cartel's vault and steal a file listing all The Cartel's illegal payments guarded by the corrupt priest Father Julius and his chocolate loving monks. Noodle & Wonka manage to get the file but are held up at gunpoint by Slugworth and The Cartel. Slugworth then revealed that he was the one who dropped Noodle down the laundry chute of the Scrubbit household to stop her inheriting the family fortune. He then locked Noodle & Wonka in The Cartel's chocolate vault and had it fill up with chocolate in order to kill them. Wonka apologies to Noodle, but she thanks him for finding her birth mother. Just then an Oompa Loompa named Lofty saves them just before they're killed by the chocolate. She and Wonka escape and expose The Cartel & Chief-of-Police's crimes to the citizens and to the police. Wonka then takes Noodle to the library where she finally reunites with her long lost mother.

Personality[]

Noodle is a kind-hearted and adventurous girl who is always eager to help others. She is brave and loyal, and she quickly becomes friends with Willy Wonka after they meet. She is also a kind-hearted, helpful, curious, adventurous, brave, loyal, and optimistic girl. Despite her difficult circumstances, she maintains a positive outlook on life and is always eager to help others.
