Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nora Salter was born in Lebanon, and later joined the Solar Associated Treaty Organization (SATO), achieving the rank of lieutenant. Salter became one of SATO's best pilots, and eventually earned a place in the Special Combat Air Recon. By the time she joined SCAR, Salter met Nick Reyes, who became her best friend. Salter became Reyes' wingman and most close friend in SATO, and would have his back no matter what. It was later revealed that she had served alongside Reyes for ten years and how he was responsible for saving her life on several occasions.
As with all SATO and SCAR personnel, she held a deep dislike towards Settlement Defense Front; an example would be when Reyes saved her while undercover, the first thing she said to him was that she disliked that uniform he was wearing. Salter and Reyes were later assigned to the UNSA Retribution, an Admiral-class space warfare carrier that was under the command of Captain John Alder.
Infinite Warfare[]
Salter was present at Geneva for Fleet Week alongside Reyes and Raines, and met E3N "Ethan", a tactical combat robot who was assigned to the Retribution. Geneva was attacked by the SDF, who used the city's AATIS guns to open fire on the UNSA's fleets. Salter, Reyes, Raines and Ethan fight their way across the city in order to reach the AATIS Tower, where they stop SDF operative Akeel Min Riah. After Riah is subdued, Salter, Reyes and Ethan fly into orbit to assist the UNSA's warships against the SDF's fleet.
Though the group succeed, they are caught off guard by the appearance of the Olympus Mons, which was led by Admiral Salen Kotch. Captain Alder decides to stop Kotch and his ship by ramming the Retribution into the Olympus. Ethan, Salter and Reyes survive the attack, and travel to the bridge with the aid of Staff Sergeant Usef Omar, and learn that Alder died from ramming the ship. The group also learns that the executive officer died as a result of the collision, and Reyes is promoted to acting captain of the Retribution, and made Salter his executive officer. Captain Maureen Ferran of the destroyer Tigris arrived on board, and Admiral Fredrick Raines briefed the group on the situation with the SDF. His first mission for Reyes and Ferran's group was to retake the Lunar Gateway Port from the SDF.
Due to the Retribution having limited combat-ready personnel due to it being a carrier, Salter joins Reyes, Ethan, Omar and the Marines for the mission. On Luna, Salter and the group work with the Marines troops to retake the Luna port, and she meets Sean Brooks and Todd Kashima. After cleaning out the base of the remaining SDF forces, the group assist Captain Ferran and Tigris in battling the Ares Vallis in outer space. The group later leave their jackals and breach the viewport of the Ares' bridge, causing SDF officer Bradley Fillion to die of suffocation. After destroying the warship, Salter and the group return to the ship and receive another briefing from Raines.
After the mission on Luna, Ethan is able to download the locations of all SDF warships using Fillion's card. The crew of the Retribution plan out missions to attack the SDF's fleets, and take out high-ranking officers of the SDF, including Caleb Thies. The crew then get their next primary mission to destroy the SDF's primary fueling station on Titan, which will cripple their battle readiness and distract them so Earth could rebuild its fleets. Salter stays behind to lead the second wave as Reyes, Ethan, Brooks, Kashima and Omar deploy on Titan, and manage to destroy the refinery tower. When returning to the Retribution, the SCARs are intercepted by the Olympus Mons, which damages Reyes' Jackal.
Reyes and Ethan are forced to eject, and the former orders the crew of the Retribution to retreat and leave him behind. With Reyes gone, Salter temporarily assumes the command of the ship, and instructs the Tigris to search for Reyes and Ethan despite Raines' refusal to dispatch a rescue party. Despite the risks, the search and rescue is successful, and Salter is able to reunite with Reyes. Afterward, the Retribution investigate a mining colony on Vesta 3 and rescue miners before the sun could kill them. Though they saved most of the miners, Omar was killed as he ordered Salter to leave him behind despite Reyes' protest. Though Reyes asks Salter what if it was him, she refuses to answer and they return to the Retribution.
Returning to the ship, the crew is informed of a distress call from Tigris, and follow it to find the ship destroyed. The team realize that it was a trap, and that Ferran and her crew were killed by the Olympus. Reyes orders a search and rescue, but finally stops after he is informed that it was a total loss. After receiving a message from Kotch, the crew devise a plan to lure the SDF's fleet back to Earth, where they would use the AATIS guns to destroy their ships. By utilizing Riah's transponder, it will give the SDF the call to invade Earth, and they could destroy the SDF for good. However, the plan failed due to Riah escaping custody and killing himself to allow the SDF invade, which causes Admiral Raines to be killed by Kotch.
Salter, Reyes, and the marines of the Retribution launch an attack on the Olympus, and manage to defeat him by using a hijacked robot. Kotch is let fatally wounded, and Reyes takes command of the Olympus, and decides to attack the SDF's orbital shipyard over Mars' orbit. Though the Olympus destroys many SDF warships, Reyes decides to collide the ship onto the shipyard, but the Retribution takes heavy damage and drifts into the path of the Olympus. Both ships crash into each other, and many members are killed due to the collision, including Kashima. Salter and Audrey "Mac" MaCallum regroup at the crash site on Mars, and prepare for the assault to infiltrate the shipyard.
During the assault, most survivors are killed, including Victor "Gator" Diallo, Ebele Yetide, Lee Boggs, Maynard Griffin, and Mac by sacrificing herself to let Salter and Reyes continue on the mission. Reyes details Salter and the few remaining survivors to commandeer an SDF destroyer to level the shipyard as he and Ethan fight their way to the control center. After gaining control of the center after Ethan sacrifices himself, Reyes orders Salter to open fire on the control center. Though she refuses at first, she reluctantly does so after Reyes reminds her that it was an order. Though the control center was destroyed, Reyes was killed from debris cracking his helmet, causing him to die from suffocation.
Salter was among the survivors of the 767 crew, alongside Sean Brooks, Evelynn Sotomura and Erwin Kloos. After the end of the conflict, Salter visited the Wall of Remembrance inside the UNSA headquarters in Geneva. She sees the names of her fallen comrades, including Reyes', on the wall, and salutes it, stating "Peace to the Fallen" before leaving.
