Nora West-Allen is a major character in the CW series The Flash. She is Barry Allen and Iris West's daughter, Bart Allen's older sister, the granddaughter of Nora Allen, Henry Allen, Francine West, and Joe West, and the niece of Wally and Jenna West. She inherited her father's convention to the Speed Force, and in a potential future, she became known as the Vigilante XS.

She was portrayed by Jessica Parker Kennedy.

History[]

Original multiverse[]

New multiverse[]

In the new multiverse Nora was born in 2023, a year earlier than her past self. When she was seven years old, she became an older sister to Iris and Barry's second child and only son, Bart West-Allen. The West-Allen siblings were very close with members of Team Flash, especially Jay Garrick, who the siblings saw as a surrogate uncle.

Unlike her original counterpart Nora pursued a career as a journalist like her mother instead of a forensic scientist like her father.

Earth Prime[]

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Speed Force connection/Meta-human physiology: Nora inherited the metagene from her father. Even though she is not as powerful as her father, Nora is the self-proclaimed "Fastest Woman Alive." Initially, she learned what she knows about speedsters in the Flash Museum before Eobard Thawne taught her.
    • Accelerated healing factor: As a speedster, Nora has a faster healing factor than humans do
    • Bodily vibration: Like most speedsters, Nora can vibrate her body for various effects.
      • Intangibility Nora can make her body intangible and penetrate solid matter by vibrating her molecules at a natural frequency of air. In the past her father and uncle Wally taught her how to turn into herself and a place intangible and all of us passengers were saved.
      • Invisibility: In "The Girl with Red Lighting," Nora vibrated her body so fast, that she essentially turns herself invisible
    • Electrokinesis: In the original timeline, Nora could generate yellow and purple lightning. However, when she tapped into the Negative Speed Force, the yellow aspect of her lighting turned red. In the new timeline, Nora creates purple lightning like her mother's lightning when a Meta-human unintentionally swapped Barry's powers and gave them to Iris.
      • Lightning Constructs: Nora used her electrokinesis to create lightning constructs, which she did to create a lasso.
    • Superhuman durability: Nora can withstand attacks, exertion, and physical punishment that would be fatal to regular humans.
    • Superhuman speed: Nora can move at such vast speeds, as she calls herself the "Fastest Woman Alive", meaning she topped other female speedsters before her. While she can keep up with her father, Nora is not as fast as he is
      • Superhuman agility: Nora has demonstrated flawless coordination, equilibrium, and dexterity, she can change direction with immediate sharp turns without sliding or losing balance and instantly stop running on the spot.
      • Superhuman reflexes: Nora's reaction time is augmented to superhuman levels; she can dodge bullets and sneak attacks.
      • Superhuman momentum: to be added
      • Aerokinesis: Nora generate air flows and create vortexes to extinguish fires
      • Time travel: Nora can tap into the speed force using her kinetic energy, allowing her to breach the space-time continuum. She first time traveled in 2017 on the day of her father's wedding to Iris. This was the first time Nora ever saw her father.
    • Superhuman stamina: Nora can handle racing longer than a normal human and without showing any signs of distress.

Former Powers[]

  • Negative Speed Force connection: When Barry sent Nora back to 2049 after he learned Nora was working with Eobard, Thawne reluctantly taught Nora how to tap into the Negative Speed Force in order for her to travel back to 2019. She used every rage and angry emotions to keep her connection to the Negative Speed Force. However, Nora gave up her connection to the Negative Speed Force instead of choosing to save herself when she was erased from existence.
    • Electrokinesis: After Nora tapped into the Negative Speed Force, Christ turned bright red and her once yellow and purple lightning turned red and purple. However both her eyes and lightning colors were restored after she gave up her connection to this Negative Speed Force
    • Bodily vibration: After tapping into the Negative Speed Force, Nora could garble her voice into a deep growl when she got angry.
  • Mental link to Grace Gibbons: Nora's time being linked to Grace's memories caused a mental connection between the two. Both of the girls could sense when the other was near and see what the other could see.
  • Temporal regression: In a previous timeline, more learned how to reverse time around her while running. She stopped her father from destroying the falling S.T.A.R. Labs satellite alone. In "Cause and XS", Nora kept reversing time every time cicada managed to kill one of her friends. However, she couldn't control it and ended up going through a time loop 52 times. In the new multiverse Nora does not have this ability yet.

Abilities[]

  • Acrobatics: Nora knows how to perform flips and other maneuvers. Nora distracted Block and evaded all of her attacks.
  • Drawing/Sketch artist: Because of Nora's super speed usage and excellent perservation of memory, Nora can daw detailed drawings within seconds similar to Barry because her super speed preserve quick memory
  • Genius-level intellect/Forensics: In the original timeline, Nora graduated from college with a 5.6 GPA and became a forensic scientist like her father Barry Allen. She earned praise from both Eobard Thawne, a criminal mastermind, and Harrison Sherloque Wells, a skilled detective. For example, she learned neuro-regeneration in her fifth-grade STEM class and helped her team come up with a plan to stop Cicada. In the new timeline, Nora became an accomplished reporter similar to her mother Iris.
    • Bilingualism: In addition to English, Nora knows "time language", which is in her journal and how she secretly communicated with Thawne.
  • Expert hand-to-hand combatant: Initially, Nora could not fight Godspeed while Eobard taught her how to incapacitate him. In the future, however, Nora had improved and adapted in unarmed combat as she was able to quickly.

Weaknesses[]

  • Cold Temperature
  • Hyper-Metabolism
  • Power Dampening Tech

Trivia[]

  • Nora's motivation for saving her father from disappearing in the future is similar to Bart Allen's intentions in Young Justice.
  • Nora finally met Mia Queen in the "Earth-Prime" comic book series and fought side by side like their fathers had done.
  • Jessica Parker Kennedy previously played Bette Sans Souci on Smallville, which is labeled as the Earth-167 in the Arrowverse.
