Noramyako is a recurring character of the Doraemon franchise. She is Doraemon's former collegue and love interest, and served as a significant influence to him prior to his travel to the past, as shown in the short film 2112: The Birth of Doraemon, in which she serves as is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Dora the Kid) of The Doraemons series. She was also the one who introduced the other seven robots to Doraemon in the first place, forming the Doraemons.
She was voiced by Yūko Minaguchi in the 1979 anime, Ai Nonaka in the 2005 anime, and will be voiced by Aoi Yūki in the 2023 movie.
History[]
As shown in the short film 2112: The Birth of Doraemon, when Doraemon was falling down to the incinerator, Noramyako was the one who saved him by her tail. The two became close friends ever since, and attended the Robot Academy together, where Doraemon was often bullied by Sunekuchi and Jaides only for Noramyako to rescue him every time. In short, she served a role to Doramon similar to what Shizuka does to Nobita. When Sunekuchi and Jaides were imprisoned, Noramyako introduced to Doraemon six other robots: Dora the Kid, Dora-rinho, Wang Dora, Dora-nichov, Dora Med III and El Matadora. The seven formed the Doraemons and then successfully rescued Sunekuchi and Jaides.
When the graduation day was near, Noramyako introduced to Doraemon dorayaki, a Japanese treat filled with red bean paste, to cheer him up. Doraemon immediately liked this treat and it became his favorite food ever since. After graduating, Noramyako became a successful ballet dancer. When Doraemon was hospitalized due to having his ears bitten off by Sewashi's robot mouse, Noramyako visited him. Seeing Doraemon without ears, she laughed uncontrollably, causing Doraemon to have a low-esteem and accidentally drink The Bane of Gloom, thus the yellow color washed off and his voice changed.
After Doraemon accidentally rescued Sewashi from Dolmanstein and Black Mask, Noramyako apologized for laughing at him and the two reconciled. They, alongside their collegues and Sewashi, then attended Christmas and saw Principal Teraodai giving Doraemon the Mini-Doras and a new fourth dimensional pocket.
By the time of the main series, when travelling back to the future, Doraemon and Nobita find out that Noramyako has been defunct due to being outmode. Although Doraemon is devastated at first, Nobita says that they can repair her. The robot factory suggests using her old parts, and the two successfully revive Noramyako. However, they accidentally wiped her memory in the process, so she laughs at Doraemon's bald head again before returning home. She presumably regains her full memory and reconciles with Doraemon again afterwards.
