Nori Doorman is the overarching protagonist of the 2021 horror web series Murder Drones. She is the wife of Khan Doorman, as well as the mother of Uzi Doorman and a host of the Absolute Solver. After the explosion of the core of Copper 9, Nori worked to stop the Absolute Solver and preventing them from causing more destruction and death.
She was voiced by Darcy Maguire in the English version, voiced by Caroline Werner in the German dub, voiced by Yelena Yefremova in the French dub, and by Oleksandra Seredynsʹka in the Ukrainian dub.
Appearance[]
Nori strongly resembles her daughter Uzi, meaning that Uzi inherited many of her mother's traits. She has neon purple eyes, though Alice contradicts this, stating that Nori had yellow eyes. Her hair is violet, a slightly lighter shade than Uzi's, with a long bang parted to her left and tied up in a ponytail. She also wears a black construction helmet, a short black dress, and a black choker on her neck with the number 002.
Personality[]
Similar to her daughter, Nori is a serious and cynical drone who can often be quite cold and sarcastic towards others. In the same vein as her daughter, she also writes about the events that occur or the things she finds, although uniquely having the hobby of writing an 'S' in most of the notes she writes.
Nori blames herself for the events that occurred to both Uzi and the planet and because of that wants to stop the Absolute Solver by herself. She does, however, seem to care about the lives of other individuals, even if the way she expresses it hint otherwise, as she saved N from the Solver when she first met him.
Nori is also revealed to hold a grudge against the Disassembly Drones for nearly killing her and destroying her body, as when she found out Uzi and N were dating, she is furious and slaps a possessed Uzi with such strength that gets her knocked to the ground, indirectly breaking her free as a result.
Regardless, Nori is a good person at heart. She loves her daughter and husband, choosing to isolate herself out of fear over indirectly jeopardizing their lives and their relationship with each other. During the series finale, she has a heart to heart moment with Uzi as they finally have a chance to talk to each other for the first time in years and later cheers her on during her fight with Cyn. She also saves Khan from falling to his death and, despite initially running away from him out of embarrassment, ultimately gets back together with him as shown in the ending and during the credits.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
While her origins are largely left vague, Nori was one of the test subjects used by JC Jenson to find out how to handle the Absolute Solver. During this, she gained the abilities of the Solver, while also later becoming possessed by the program. One day, a possessed Nori murdered most the crew experimenting on her, but was stopped from killing the last one remaining, Michell, by Yeva.
Yeva then threw the crucifix patch at her, which turned Nori back to normal, but her hand was still controlled by the Solver, leading to Yeva cutting it off, which then fell into a hole that lead to the core of Copper 9 exploding, causing the remaining humans in Copper 9 to die. After this, she woke up on the planet's surface and met Khan Doorman in Camp 98.7, with them later having a child named Uzi.
Nori would later develop fear over the Absolute Solver and the plans they had for the planet, and when Uzi was still a baby, Nori was stabbed with nanite acid, forcing Khan to destroy her body, believing he was putting her out of her misery. In truth, Nori was able to survive through her core, staying in a room located in the underground labs where she used to be experimented on so she can find a way to defeat the Absolute Solver.
Murder Drones[]
After N, Uzi and "Tessa" get to the underground labs, Nori finds N and guides him through the tunnels so they both could escape from the Absolute Solver. Later finding out that N knew Khan and her daughter, Nori would explain the events that happened in the labs to him, and gives him the cross so they can stop Uzi from being completely possessed by the Solver.
During these events, N mentions that he is excited to talk to Uzi, leading Nori to threaten to kill N if he reveals to Uzi that she is alive, although he refused to do that. Later, Nori saves N from a posessed Uzi and helps him fight her. However, the Solver was able to get the upper hand, and when it seemed they were about to devour Nori's core, N tells her he and Uzi hang out, which confuses the Solver and infuriates Nori so much that she slaps her on the face with such strength that she gets knocked on the ground.
Uzi then regains control over her body, with the first thing she does is kick Nori, unaware she was her mother for trying to boss her around, leading her to fall to the hole made by the Solver.
