Biography[]

The Lord of Dark[]

Long before he became a knight, a demon known as the Lord of Dark terrorized the kingdom of Lucrece. However, the dark lord was defeated by a man named Hasshe, alongside his friend Uranus. Oersted would eventually work toward becoming a knight himself and become a protector of Lucrece as well alongside his friend Streibough. Eventually, the two of them would take part in a tournament that they reach the final round together. Oersted emerges victorious and is awarded Princess Alethea's hand in marriage. Oersted and Alethea are happy to be together until the Lord of Dark returns and kidnaps the Princess.

Oersted, ever devoted, sets off to save her with Streibough joining him. However, the door to the Lord's temple is sealed up. Because of this, the two of them locate Uranus and Hasshe for aid. With the two older heroes helping them out, Oersted and Streibough make it to the Lord of Dark and slay him. However, Hasshe soon reveals that Lord of Dark to have been an imposter before he dies from an illness he had been hiding. With the princess nowhere to be found, and the cave seemingly collapsing, the remaining heroes retreat, losing Streibough on the way out.

Oersted and Uranus make their way back to the castle to inform the king of the bad news. In order to better prepare for their next move, the two heroes sleep for the night. However, Oersted is suddenly waken up where he sees what appears to be Streibough. He follows to suddenly encounter the Lord of Dark. Fearing the worst, Oersted pulls out his sword and strikes the demon. However, the illusion fades and Oersted is horrified to see the king dead. To make things worse, the minister and the other knights arrive and believe that he not only killed the king on purpose, but they conclude he also killed Hasshe and Streibough and that Uranus was in on it. The kingdom then labels Oersted the Lord of Dark and exiles him.

Oersted attempts to find somebody to believe in him, but they all shun him or are too weak to lend him aid. Then he is soon captured and thrown in a cell where he would be sentenced to death. At first, Oersted is resigned to his fate, but then he heard Uranus who told him not to give up and that there would always be somebody who would believe in him, using the last of his power to set Oersted free and tell him to work on clearing his name.

Realizing what he had to do, Oersted makes his way back to the Archon's Roost to face the real Lord of Dark, fighting off any guards that get in his way. Upon reaching the top of the roost, he soon finds himself face to face with Streibough, who reveals himself responsible for Oersted being demonized by the kingdom and has intention of taking Oersted down out of jealousy. Oersted manages to defeat his former ally once and for all. Despite this, Alethea reveals herself and that she had fallen in love with Streibough, accusing Oersted of abandoning her before committing suicide in front of him.

Distraught and shattered, Oersted realized everything he had worked toward was gone and he had nothing left. The last of his faith gone, Oersted declares himself the Lord of Dark, deciding to wreak havoc upon the world for what it did to him, starting by wiping out Lucrece. Soon seven parts of history would fear him under a new name - Odio.

The Dominion of Hate[]

While the seven heroes fight the Lord of Dark, they manage to get him to change back into Oersted who demands they finish him off to prove their victory.

Instead, they leave, prompting the Lord of Dark to attack them once more. In the remake, he becomes Sin of Odio. The heroes would eventually push to where Oersted becomes able to break free of his hatred and deal the finishing blow to his demonic self. The strike also being fatal to himself.

His sanity restored, Oersted is saddened by what he had become. There the heroes would lecture him on what he had lost, Pogo would give him a hug of comfort and Cube would give Oersted flowers in the remake. Oersted then sends the heroes back to their home times as he passes away finally at peace.

Bad Endings[]

If the player chooses to comply finishing him off instead of leaving him after defeating Purity of Odio, his last words have him cry out to Alethea before he expires. A cloud of red smoke rises from his corpse and disappears, heavily implied to be his hatred escaping to continue the vicious cycle while the seven heroes are presumably left stranded in Lucrece pondering if they did the right thing.

If the player chooses him for the Final Chapter,
