Old Man Owl is a major character in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. He is an old owl who serves as the President's messenger. He either has bad eyesight or poorly-made glasses.
He is played by Charles Campbell in English version and by Chafūrin in Japanese version.
History[]
He makes his first appearance in the film when he gives the message to Sonic and Tails that the President needs to talk to them and after the two are gone, he stays on their island to take care of their home. When Hyper Metal Sonic arrives, he forces the owl to put on Sonic's sportswear, which the owl likes. He annoys Tails and the President by dancing in his style. Eventually, he flies the President's plane to the frozen ice caps and is saved from an explosion by Metal Sonic.
Personality[]
Old Man Owl is witty and easily scared. He gets distracted easily and is very senile, always screaming at the top of his lungs and doing strange things at random. Although he says that as a young man he was very popular with women.
Trivia[]
- During one scene, Old Man Owl is dancing while singing "Who's in the bread box kicking out dough? Owl's in the bread box kicking out dough." This is a reference to a line from the Charlie Daniels Band song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", which actually says "chicken in the bread pan, picking out dough".
- Its possible that he became an influence for Longclaw from the Sonic the Hedgehog films.
